But the visitors were buoyed by claiming the wickets of Mark Cosgrove, who lofted a drive straight to Logan van Beek at long on, and Colin Ackerman who was bowled by a beauty from Luis Reece.

Ground staff covered the entire square during the break and prospects for play any time soon are poor.

  13. Derby Triangle: Development will create fewer jobspublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 29 May 2019

    Chris Doidge
    BBC Radio Derby, political reporter

Planners at Derby City Council are not impressed with the "significant reduction" in proposed jobs at the new Derby Triangle development.

Originally, 3,300 new jobs were set to be created at the business park - now developers envisage there will only be 1,100.

The new development site is between Pride Park and the Wyvern and is the reason for the A52 roadworks.

A report published by the city council said it had expected the site to achieve "something a bit different to the standard".

It had also been hoped the development would have taken advantage of the riverside location and links to Pride Park.

On the other hand, there will be a reduction in office space on the site - something the council's regeneration team claims would be good for the city centre, where they would prefer new office developments to be based.

It'll be 40 years tomorrow since Nottingham Forest won their first European Cup and the man who sealed the deals to bring Brian Clough and Peter Taylor to the club has just given his first TV interview.

    Brian Appleby

Brian Appleby, who is now 89, said Brian Clough was a "breath of fresh air" and exactly what the club needed at that time.

But not everybody saw it like that. He said: "A lot of the committee didn't want him to come - I think they were frightened of what would happen."

Despite having a rather controversial reputation, Mr Appleby said Clough was "charming" and quickly won the affection of his wife and young son.

He said: "His public persona was very different to his private persona. He was a very kind, considerate man."

Mr Appleby then brought in Peter Taylor to work with Clough.

He said: "I'll always remember Peter Taylor saying to me 'I want to buy Peter Shilton' and I asked him how much he would be.

"I said 'nobody's ever paid that for a goalkeeper' and he said 'we'll win a lot of games with him'".
