    Police have made one arrest following a fight in Nottingham city centre last night involving up to 10 men.

    It's not thought anyone was seriously injured in the violence, which broke out in North Sherwood Street shortly before 20:30.

    A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and police are appealing for witnesses, external, including anyone who has spotted a car in the area with a smashed window.

    Police are searching for a mother and her six-year-old daughter who have gone missing from their home in Aspley.

    Charlene Parr, 34, and Truly were last seen at about 15:30 and have links to Ilkeston and Heanor.

    The mother was wearing blue jeans and a grey raincoat when they disappeared. Her daughter wore black leggings and a silver jacket.

    Anyone with information on the pair's whereabouts have been asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police urgently, external.

    Footage has captured the moment three fire crews tackled a blaze at a house in Cotgrave yesterday evening.

    The fire, which started at about 19:00 in the attic of a house in Flagholme, was extinguished by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. Nobody was injured.

    Derbyshire Police have released an image of a man they wanted to speak to over allegations of making threats to kill and coercive and controlling behaviour.

    Mohammed Kabeer, 35, is 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build with black hair.

    Police said he has links to Derby and Bradford.

    While they're at lunch at Chester Road, Kidderminster, on the second day of Worcestershire's rescheduled game with Sussex, things are now looking a little brighter 15 miles away back at county headquarters, at New Road.

    It has stopped raining, the River Severn has now reached its peak, the waters are starting to recede and the clean-up operation has begun in parts of the ground.

    On past experience, it usually takes three weeks to get the place ready for cricket again after a New Road flood, which would wipe out next week's one-day game against Australia A, on 25 June.

    But the next home game after that, the Championship fixture against Derbyshire on 7 July, at least looks a reasonable target.

    The club are yet to comment on how long they expect to be at Kidderminster this time.

    A convicted burglar and thief has absconded from HMP Sudbury after being allowed out on day release.

    Christopher Dunne, 31 - who has a tattoo of his surname on his left arm and the word "Sue" and a cross on his right - was jailed for six years in 2015 for the offences.

    He was allowed to leave the prison on Sunday to visit his home in Lower Gornal, Dudley, but has failed to return.

    Derbyshire Police said Dunne also has links to the Wolverhampton area.

    Nottingham Forest have stepped in to rescue the cash-strapped Nottingham Schools Football Association.

    Its future had been under threat amid a series of public sector cutbacks - with recent figures showing annual running costs of £40,000 - but the football club has pledged funding and resources to the association.

    Former Reds defender Julian Bennett, who played for the association's City Boys before turning professional, said: "I wouldn't have had a career and potentially would have turned to other things and that's why it's so important to keep City Boys up and running."

    Crews have been dealing with a fire at a block of flats in Alvaston, external.

    Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said it broke out in Barrett Street at about 10:30.

    The service said the fire was now out and the building was currently being ventilated.

    It added nobody was injured or rescued from the flats.

    A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Loughborough.

    Police said the man, who is in his 30s, was found by officers near McDonald's in Warwick Way after being injured at an address in nearby Pevensey Road.

    His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and cordons have been set up while inquiries continue.
