Three people who "deliberately flouted" the coronavirus lockdown to drive 300 miles for a new caravan have been fined.
Nottinghamshire police stopped the trio in Newark while they were towing a caravan on Sunday afternoon.
The two men, aged 52 and 38, and a 30-year-old woman explained they were on a 300-mile round trip from Lincolnshire to Essex where they had bought the caravan.
PC Richard Bombroffe said: "This is clearly not an essential journey so all three were reported for summons and tickets were completed back at Newark station.
"These people have deliberately flouted the rules putting their own and other people’s lives in danger."
