    It's the second day of the Lincoln Christmas Market and once again the streets are lined with visitors looking for gifts and getting in the festive spirit.

    The A180 in Grimsby is partly blocked with slow traffic westbound because of debris in the road.

    It's slowing traffic down on the Pyewipe Roundabout as well.

    A car was stolen in Grantham after its owner left the vehicle engine running unattended to defrost.

    Police call this type of theft a "frost-jacking" and are warning people in Lincolnshire that they should always stay in their vehicle when the keys are in the ignition. 

    The Ford S-Max was taken from a driveway on Wednesday.

    More now on those Diamondback moths that have been eating this year's Brussels sprout crop. 

    We've spoken to Dr Steve Foster who works at one of the oldest agricultural research institutions in the world - Rothamsted Research. 

    He says it can be very tough to get rid of them:

    The Diamondback moth is considered to be a super-pest because it's notorious for its ability to evolve resistance to a wide range of insecticides and now these moths have come into this country."

    Love them or hate them, Brussel sprouts are mainstay of the traditional Christmas dinner.

    However this year's Lincolnshire crop has been devastated by Diamondback moths and now supermarkets are having to bring in stocks from abroad to meet demand.

  13. Traffic and travel: Emergency repairs close stretch of M180 and M181published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2016

    The M180 is closed with slow traffic in both directions between J2, A161 Gainsborough and J4, A15 Scawby.

    Part of the M181 is shut as well between J3, Scunthorpe and the A18, Frodingham Grange Roundabout.

    Both the closures are down to emergency repairs being carried out on the roads.

    If you're in the west of the county then expect some delays on the A1.

    One lane is blocked with slow traffic southbound in Carlton-on-Trent, it's because of a broken down vehicle.

    Devon and Cornwall deputy chief constable Bill Skelly has been named as the preferred candidate to be Lincolnshire’s new police chief.    

    As well as holding the senior position at Devon and Cornwall, he's also worked at Police Scotland including on security surrounding the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

    It can't be easy when dad's job takes him away from home for 60 days, even if it's the coolest job in the world that'll get you some major bragging points at school.

    But that probably makes being together in time for Christmas all the more special.

    A 29-year-old man has been hit by a car whilst using a pedestrian crossing on Freeman Street.

    The car that hit him, a Ford Puma, drove off leaving him with serious injuries that required hospital treatment.

    It happened at 11:48 on November 29 and police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident.
