Campaigners against a new waste management plant in Lincoln will hold a public meeting tonight.

More than 300 objections have been lodged against the planning application on Long Leys Road, which residents say is too close to houses.

But the company Veolia says it's a good alternative to sending all the waste to landfill.

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Radio Lincolnshire reporter

A city-wide ban on people taking legal highs in public could be pushing the drugs into other areas of Lincoln, it has been claimed.

Lincoln became the first city in the UK to introduce the banning zones last year.

Now local residents say the drugs are being used more in areas just outside the zones.

Latest city council report figures show incidents have dropped from 402 in 2015 - to 259 this year, but the number has risen slightly in places like Beaumont Fee and the Brayford.
