In fact, they ended up raising £250!

    Quote Message

Mr Abdol Ali Javid Keshmiri of Wragby Road failed to protect his tenants from risk of injury.

He was ordered to pay £10,123.30 in fines and costs for the property on Burton Road.

The terraced house was converted into two flats without planning permission or building regulations approval.

A family of four were living in the upstairs flat, with a single person downstairs.

The property breaks several fire safety requirements - fire alarms were missing and doors were sealed shut and wall-papered over.

This is the second time Mr Javid Keshmiri has been prosecuted by the council for such offences, having previously been convicted and charged £8,253.38 in October 2016 for 11 similar offences at a property on Ely Street.

  19. Will time be called on Haxey Hood pub site?published at 09:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2018

The ancient game of the Haxey Hood may be started by The Fool (pictured) but is it a fool's game to keep a local pub running for one busy day a year?

    The Haxey Hood fool

Participants say the lack of pubs in the area is putting the annual event in jeopardy.

Plans to turn the Duke William pub into homes have been withdrawn but the parish council will consult with residents tonight on the building's fate.

Its closure leaves just two participating pubs in the annual event which has been taking place since the 14th century.

Planner Mark Simmonds says it was losing money:

    Quote Message

The Duke William is losing money. We can't see that it is justified to keep a pub open for 365 days of the year to serve one event on one day. However much it's loved by local people, no business can operate on that basis"

    Mark Simmonds, North Lincolnshire Council
