    A row over signage on houses in Lincoln is being taken to the Secretary of State in charge of communities and housing.

    Residents have in the past complained that To Let signs on the sides of houses are "an eyesore" and make it easier for burglars to target student homes.

    City of Lincoln Council is now planning to completely ban the use of signs on the sides of properties.

    Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for housing, communities and local government, will have the last word on whether the ban can go ahead.

    A man is wanted by Lincolnshire Police after failing to turn up to a court appearance in Boston.

    Maciej Drewniak, 23, from Boston, failed to appear at Boston Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 7 February charged with a criminal damage offence and a theft-from-vehicle offence.

    He has no fixed address, but may still be in the area, according to police.

    Officers are asking for anyone who knows his whereabouts to get in touch.

    CCTV cameras in East Lindsey are to be finally switched on at the end of February after almost six months of delays.

    The district council accused BT of delaying the use of their new system in August last year.

    They spent £400,000 on the new cameras but BT hadn't installed the network to support them.

    At the time BT apologised for the delay, saying that the work was more complicated than expected.

    The new cameras will be six times clearer than the current ones, just like those recently installed in Lincoln.

    A Deputy Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police is returning to his roots next week as he takes on a patrol shift in Skegness.

    DCC Roger Bannister began his policing career in Skegness but went on to become a senior officer in Leicestershire.

    He's retiring from that high pressure role and hoping for something more sedate in Skegness.

    He says he's looking forward to it... but hoping not to repeat the time he got his patrol car stuck in the dunes on Skegness beach.

    Police are searching for a man who inappropriately touched a teenage girl in Cleethorpes.

    The incident happened on Saturday afternoon when the girl was walking through Cleethorpes Country Park towards Park Lane with her friend.

    A man aged between 40 and 60 approached her and touched her inappropriately and then ran off.

    The girl is shaken and upset but not injured.

    The MP for Great Grimsby has been meeting the Education Secretary to ask him to help keep children with special needs in school.

    Melanie Onn says that last year alone 3,500 school days were lost in North East Lincolnshire, affecting 825 children in the region, many with special educational needs (SEN).

    Statistics from 2016 , externalshowed that children with SEN are seven times more likely to be excluded than those without.

    The manager intervened after team captain, Luke Waterfall, was booked for pushing.

    But instead of calming things down, Cowley got himself sent off.

    Pilgrim Hopsital's £2.5m maternity ward has opened for its first expectant mothers after a long period of regeneration.

    There had been concerns about the future of maternity services in Boston, as part of the Hospital trust's "Sustainable Transformation plan".

    United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust has invested £2.5m in the ten rooms, which have enough beds for 18 mothers.

    The Shadow Housing Minister and Great Grimsby MP Melanie Onn will be discussing the issue of homelessness on the Lincolnshire coast tonight.

    It's after a row broke out at a public meeting where campaigners called for talks over what they claim is a growing number of rough sleepers in Skegness.

    Councils in the area say there is no homeless problem in the town.

    The driver of a car has been arrested after a cyclist in his 40s died after an accident at the weekend.

    The cyclist was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham but died from his injuries.

    The driver of the car was arrested for dangerous driving.

    The crash happened in Kellet Gate in Spalding (pictured) at around 19:40 on Saturday evening.

    Police are appealing for witnesses.

    An investment in Lincoln's CCTV service is being described as a "revolution" for the city's security.

    Staff in the control room say it provides pictures which are six times clearer.

    Part of Bankside in Hull will be closed to traffic from today until May as work starts to improve flood defences.

    The £36.5m improvements along the River Hull mean a 200m stretch will be closed and diversions will be in place.

    There'll be no access from Clough Road to Air Street but businesses along the road will be open as normal.

    You're being advised to leave yourself extra time for journeys in the area.
