    Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was knocked off his bike by a car last night and left unconscious at the side of the road.

    Officers say they received a report just before midnight after a man was knocked down and left on the side of Skirbeck Road in Boston.

    It's reported that a red people carrier-type vehicle collided with the cyclist, who had lights at both the front and rear of the bicycle.

    The vehicle would have suffered front-end damage.

    Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who has noticed a red people carrier which has now got front-end damage to come forward.

    The Girmsby Ice Factory has been labelled one of the most endangered buildings in Europe.

    It is understood to be the oldest ice factory in the United Kingdom and has been in a state of serious decline since its closure in 1990.

    The roof is now severely damaged allowing water into the building, and much of its metal work and electrical fittings have been stolen.

    Europa Nostra, a European heritage organisation say they will travel to Grismby to see the site and see what can be done to save the building.

    Three crews are at Seacroft Road in Mablethorpe.

    Revealing the news on Chris Evans' BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, Kevin said they were still "the best of friends".

    City of Lincoln Council says buying a hotel in the city makes financial sense for the long term and will boost the local economy.

    It's been confirmed that the authority will lease the site, on Tentercroft Street, to Travelodge in a £13m deal.

    The council says it has to find ways of becoming more self-sufficient because of government funding cuts.

    The former BHS building in Scunthorpe is to become the new location for an indoor market for the town as part of a £60m redevelopment, it's been announced.

    Thousands of people have signed a petition calling on North Lincolnshire Council to think again about making the move, with some traders telling the BBC the new location is not practical and ill-conceived.

    Lincolnshire could receive millions of pounds of extra funding for major road improvements.

    A consultation is taking place at the moment into a proposed Major Road Network, external, which would see the most important local routes grouped together.

    If it goes ahead, each area will get a share of £1bn of extra funding which councils can apply for and use to pay for things like repairs or even create dual carriageways and bypasses.

    The A15 from Lincoln to Scunthorpe and the A17 from Newark to Norfolk are amongst the roads which could form part of the network.

    The City of Lincoln Council has bought the Travelodge hotel building currently under construction on Tentercroft Street.

    The £13m deal sees the council purchase the building which is set to be completed later this year.

    Once finished, the council will lease it to Travelodge for 25 years, with the hotel having an option to extend it by a further 25 years.

    The council, which borrowed the money to make the purchase, hopes to make a return on the investment within around 30 years, with money reinvested into maintaining key services it would otherwise have to cut due to reduced central government funding.
