    The first incident of the hare coursing season has been reported to the police.

    It happened on Monday in Dry Doddington, with the victim telling police their vehicle's tyres had been slashed by coursers.

    Officers are investigating and asking people in the area to keep an eye out and report any suspicious behaviour.

    Grantham Hospital could become a centre of excellence for bone and joint care.

    United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, which runs the hospital, has unveiled plans which could also see it become one of the top five performing sites in the country for joint replacements.

    A six-month trial will begin next Monday.

    It's hoped the changes will cut the number of cancelled operations and reduce the amount of time patients have to stay in hospital.

    Plans have been revealed to improve wheelchair access and bring light to the "dark corners" of Lincoln Castle.

    A series of projects, which also include new lighting and revamped pathways, have been submitted to the county council's planning department.

    Staff at the castle say the pathway work will help people in wheelchairs and the new lighting will improve "dark corners" of the site.

    A planned housing development at Frampton, near Boston, looks set to go ahead despite continued opposition from residents, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

    Plans to build 195 homes, a park and pumping station were originally refused by Boston Borough Council, but Larkfleet Homes had that decision overturned on appeal.

    The planning inspector approved it with several conditions, including that 20% of the homes be affordable housing.

    He was reported missing on 31 July but has been seen in Grimsby and Immingham since then.

    Humberside Police think he might be staying with people he knows in the area and want him to get in touch, external.

  8. Bike hire service set to hit 20,000 rentalspublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 15 August 2018

    Five years on, Hirebike Lincoln, external is expected to get it's 20,000th hire this week.

    The scheme, run by Access Lincoln, allows people to rent electric or pedal bikes from a number of stations around the city.

    They can then drop them off at a location of their choice.

    Transpennine Express has apologised after a wheelchair user from Grimsby was left to get off a train on her own.

    Emily Storer, pictured here trying out mechanical legs last year, had booked assistance in advance to help her off the train at Barnetby station, but it didn't show up.

    Emily had to ask passengers to help her onto the platform.

    She described her first experience on a train as a disabled user as demoralising and embarrassing.

    Transpennine Express said it had lessons to learn about why the pre-booked assistance wasn't in place.

    More than 800 tonnes of wet wipes are being removed from Lincolnshire's sewage network every day, prompting Anglian Water to urge us not to flush them away.

    The firm say 21 tonnes come from Lincoln's sewers alone each day, and it costs £15m a year to clear blockages across the county.

    This pop-up pub in Lincolnshire has been so popular in its opening weekend that it ran out of beer twice.

    Volunteers were quick to replenish supplies at Goxhill Memorial Hall though.

    However, some people living nearby have objected to the plans over personal safety claims.

    Four bridge beams, each weighing more than 100 tonnes and 41 metres in length, have been lifted into place as part of the Lincoln's Eastern bypass project.

    The beams will make up the bridge in Greetwell, which will now be decked over the next 11 weeks.
