    Rail services in south London are likely to be delayed by up to 90 minutes for the rest of the day because of leaves on the line

    • Southern services to and from Victoria and London Bridge are severely disrupted this morning because of the problem
    • While South West Trains have also reported disruption because of the same problems, mainly on their London and Surrey branch lines (including Surbitonn, Kingston, Chessington & Epsom)

  4. Cyclist seriously injured in west London crashpublished at 09:57

    A cyclist has been left in a life-threatening condition after a collision with another cyclist in west London. 

    Police, external were called to New King's Road junction with Grimston Road, Hammersmith, at about 19:00 yesterday where a 25-year-old man was in collision with another cyclist in his 60s. 

    The cyclist in his 60s sustained serious head injuries as a result of the collision. He was taken to a west London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

  5. Charges dropped against Hatton Garden raid manpublished at 09:43

    One of the men accused of stealing valuables worth more than £10m from Hatton Garden's safety deposit boxes has had the charges against him dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

    Paul Reader, 51, of Dartford Road, Dartford, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to convert criminal property.

    Eight other men between 42 and 76 face legal proceedings.

  6. 'Modimania' coming to Londonpublished at 09:33

    "People are going mad for Modi, Modi, Modi," says CB Patel, a London-based publisher and long-standing supporter of India's prime minister. "I call it Modimania."

    It is billed as a grand community reception, and 60,000 Modi supporters - almost all of Indian origin - are expected to crowd into the sports stadium, external in Wembley, north London, on Friday afternoon.

    It will be his first visit to Britain as prime minister and many in the Indian community have been eagerly awaiting this moment.

    Today he'll see the firm that makes sensors to help lorry drivers identify cyclists on their insides - currently being piloted on Ealing council's vehicles.

    Mr Johnson will also have a cooking lesson to from the man who owns The Palomar - a London restaurant that's the sister of one in Jerusalem.

    But the diplomatic profile raising drive continues as the mayor will meet Israel's president - when the two will play football! It's that sort of trip.

  11. Thief steals laptop after child's funeralpublished at 08:38

    Police, external are searching for a thief who stole a man's laptop whilst he was at the funeral of his six-year-old son in west London.

    The laptop was being used to show photographs of the deceased boy during the service at the Pentecostal City Church, in Scrubs Lane, Hammersmith, on Monday.

    Det Con Ben Kirkham said: "The theft of this laptop with the father's precious photos of his son has obviously and understandably caused huge upset for the entire family who are already going through a very difficult time."

  12. Latest travel: Delays on the DLR after six trains break downpublished at 08:16

    There are minor delays on the DLR on all routes after six trains broke down earlier. 

    Also on Southern trains between Tattenham Corner and London Bridge/Victoria there are delays of up to 45 minutes and cancellations after an earlier breakdown.

    Buses are also replacing trains through Woldingham because of slippery rails.
