    Catherine McGuinness, Policy Chair at City of London Corporation - essentially the local authority for much of the financial district - is calling for action to avoid a no-deal Brexit.

    The financial services sector is crucial for everyday matters, such as motor insurance, she told BBC Radio 4's Today Programme.

    Big firms had been taking steps to prepare for a no deal exit from the EU, she said.

    But, she said: "The big firms may have been making arrangements. I’m very concerned that some of the smaller firms may not be ready yet for a no deal risk, which seems to business to be getting closer and closer".

    "The biggest worry is the concern there will be a no deal," she said, adding a "phenomenal" sum had been spent on planning.

    The Duchess of Cambridge spent this morning speaking to children as she visited the Islington Community Garden.

    It was announced that Kate, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and landscape architects Davies White have will design and build the 2019 RHS Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.

    Kensington Palace say the garden will be based on a woodland and will seek to recapture, for adults, "the sense of wonder and magic that they enjoyed as children".

    A 59-year-old man, from Croydon, who was arrested after wielding a knife at Tulse Hill station, south London, last night has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, British Transport Police (BTP) said.

    A statement said: "This is following consultation and an assessment with specialist medical staff."

    Assistant Chief Constable Robin Smith, from BTP, said: "This would have been a particularly frightening incident for those passengers at the station or on board trains a Tulse Hill station.

    "I am especially grateful to our Metropolitan Police colleagues who did a great job in detaining this man."

    A man is being sought in connection with an attack at Waterloo station which left another man with a fractured eye socket.

    Police say the victim was ordering food when chips were thrown at him and his colleague.

    He asked those involved to stop and a young man is said to have punched the victim in the face, according to the British Transport Police (BTP).

    The alleged assault is said to have happened on 4 October at 12:10.

    BTP have released a CCTV image of the man they wish to speak with.
