    MPs are to hold an inquiry into the use of drones.

    The investigation, by the Science and Technology select committee, comes after reports of a drone flying over Gatwick caused major disruption for two days before Christmas.

    It was followed by a similar but much smaller incident at Heathrow.

    With the government planning a drones bill later in the year, the committee wants to examine the effectiveness of safety measures built into drones and what anti-drone technology is available.

    It will also look at plans for registering civilian drones and the economic opportunities they offer.

    The committee is asking for written evidence by 12 April.

    Jailed British-Iranian woman Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe will be given diplomatic protection by Britain, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt has said.

    It means the case will now be treated as a formal, legal dispute between the two states involved - Britain and Iran.

    Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe, from London, was jailed for five yearsin Iran in 2016 after being convicted of spying, which she denies.

    Mr Hunt said the move was unlikely to be a "magic wand" to get her release but was an "important diplomatic step".

    There are no trains running between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey on the London Northwestern Railway until noon due to a fault on a train.

    Taxis are currently running between Watford and St Albans Abbey to help passengers.

    On the London Overground there are minor delays between Euston and Watford junction because of a shortage of trains.
