    The last person to speak is Wes Streeting, MP for Ilford North, which includes Hainault where the attacks took place.

    "I can't imagine what the poor boy's family are going through," Streeting says, referring to the 14-year-old who died, before thanking the "heroic" response of the emergency services.

    He says he's come straight from a meeting with the mayor of London and will keep local residents updated as best he can.

    “Our community deserves answers,” he says - before urging people to refrain from speculating about what happened on social media.

    We're hearing now from Redbridge Council leader, Jas Athwal.

    He says the council's thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the incident this morning.

    He goes on to thank the emergency services who responded "heroically" this morning, saying they put "themselves in harms way to stop further tragedy occurring".

    We're now hearing from a London Ambulance Service representative, who's discussing the various resources deployed to the scene this morning.

    He says the service worked hard to ensure patients got the care they needed as quickly as possible.

    The representative, whose name we haven't been told, confirms what police told us earlier - that five people were treated in hospital, including two Met Police officers, and that one 14-year-old boy died of injuries.

    Rolfe repeats what police have been saying throughout today - that it's not believed the suspect, currently in custody, is a threat to the wider community.

    She starts off by saying their thoughts are with the family and friends of the 14-year-old boy who died this morning from his injuries.

    The 36-year-old man arrested at the scene is at the hospital, she adds, and has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

    She says that given his injuries, police have been unable to question him as yet.

    Rev Keith John hasn't been able to access his church since the morning

    Police tape at one end of a street here in Hainault is being lifted so that Transport for London (TfL) workers and residents can leave the crime scene.

    But Hainault resident Reverend Keith John’s church is beyond the cordon and he’s not allowed through.

    “I went to open up and couldn’t get there this morning and I haven’t been able to get there since,” he tells me.

    “I’ve been taking calls from lots of congregants, anxious older people and worried children," he goes on, adding:

    Hainault, which is in north-east London, is in the borough of Redbridge. Wes Streeting is the MP for Ilford North, which includes Hainault. We're expecting to be hearing from him shortly.

    Police say the incident began in Thurlow Gardens, a street next to Hainault tube station.

    They were called to the area shortly before 07:00 BST to reports of a vehicle being driven into a house in Thurlow Gardens.

    The council in Redbridge, which is the London borough where Hainault is located, has recently published a statement online, external following this morning's attack.

    We've just received a correction from the Met Police - they say the boy who died from his injuries today was in fact 14, not 13 as previously stated.

    During a news conference earlier, Ch Supt Stuart Bell described him as being a 13-year-old.

    But police now say that "after speaking with the victim’s family, we can confirm that the boy who died as a result of the incidents in Hainault was aged 14 and not 13".

    If you're just joining us, or need a recap, police have given an update after a serious incident took place in Hainault, north-east London, this morning involving a man with a sword.

    Here's what we know so far:

    • Met Police have said a 14-year-old boy has died from his wounds in hospital - he was one of five people injured
    • The other four - two members of the public and two police officers - remain in hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, the Met's Ch Supt Stuart Bell told reporters earlier
    • He confirmed that a 36-year-old man had been arrested and is in custody - the suspect was Tasered 22 minutes after the first call was made to police

    Local Labour MP Wes Streeting has shared a new statement on X, sending his "deepest, heartfelt condolences" to the family of the boy who died after today's attack.

    Streeting represents Ilford North, which includes Hainault, and says the whole community is "devastated by the heartbreaking news". He goes on:
