    The NHS is relying more on the voluntary sector to help reduce so-called bed-blocking at hospitals across Greater Manchester.

    Some patients can't be discharged because they don't have the support services to look after them. 

    British Red Cross volunteers at the Royal Oldham Hospital says it is vital to help older people once they are fit enough to return home.

    It happened at about 07:45 on Gilda Brook Road near the junction with the M602. 

    The northbound lane has been closed and diversions are in place. There are no reports of any injuries.

    "Is Bob Bradley better qualified than [former United defender] Steve Bruce and Ryan Giggs to get this job? I don't think so," Sutton said.

    He cited Giggs' Premier League experience - the 42-year-old made 963 appearances for United as a player and was assistant manager at Old Trafford until July.
