We finished the show and were walking back to our dressing rooms and Boom! We could hear people panicking. We had no idea what was happening. Five minutes after getting to the room, security came in and informed us that we had to evacuate the building immediately. It was then that we realized that this was serious.

"Initially we thought that the sound was all kinds of things but it didn't hit that this was a bomb until we were evacuated and they told us exactly what was going on."

He added it was "so heartbreaking because so many little ones attend our shows...I just keep thinking about them."

The musician, who has previously toured with Usher said the "painful memory and the weight associated with the lives lost will live with us all forever".

Speaking after the event, Father Oliver Coss, the rector of All Saints, said: "Evil has always been present in the world, it is an irrepressible force sometimes.

"What we have to do as communities is meet that with the thousands of acts of kindness that were very evident in Manchester yesterday.

"It's a question of what we want - do we continue the cycles of recriminations, or do we attend to making our neighbourhoods better, safer and more peaceful?"

  20. Anti-terrorism strategy 'set for funding uplift'published at 08:49 British Summer Time 24 May 2017

    Norman Smith
    Assistant political editor

The home secretary has confirmed plans for "an uplift" in the government's counter-radicalisation strategy, our assistant political editor says.

Amber Rudd says there will be more money for Prevent. She also defended the anti-terrorism strategy against accusations that it has fueled tensions with the Muslim community.

Ms Rudd said last year alone it had stopped 150 people from travelling to Syria - including 50 children.

The government's former reviewer of terrorism legislation David Anderson this morning said Prevent needed to be "strengthened".

He said it only received 1% of the overall £3bn counter-terrorism budget.

And he acknowledged that Prevent was seen as "unpalatable" by some Muslim groups.

It has faced significant political criticism - including from Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

His party manifesto is committed to "review the Prevent programme with a view to assessing both its effectiveness and its potential to alienate minority communiites".

Meanwhile, a government source said US authorities had "got the message" after Amber Rudd criticised leaks of information on the Manchester attack.
