  15. Is Manchester blast the UK's deadliest terror attack since 7/7 London bombings?published at 04:39 British Summer Time 23 May 2017

Police are treating Monday night's blast at Manchester Arena as a terrorist incident.

If confirmed to be a terrorist attack it would the worst terror atrocity in the UK since 52 people were killed in the London bombings of July 2005.

For more than two years the official threat level for international terrorism in the UK has stood at "severe" - indicating that an attack is highly likely.

This is the second highest out of five levels, one below critical - which means an attack is expected imminently.
