    In Formby, a lunch party brought older people together to combat loneliness.

    Abbeyfield Neighbourhood Project organised the party in hopes to spread joy for those who may have been alone over the weekend.

    The guests watched old footage of the Queen and her coronation and chatted about their own memories of her.

    A woman from Chester has put on a show for the weekend's festivities.

    Alison Inglis sent us this photograph of her wearing a dress her mum, Irene, created especially for the Jubilee.

    "It has been a wonderful weekend full of friends, family, street parties and celebrating the Queen and everything British," Ms Inglis said.

    Ms Inglis and her family said they "absolutely loved" getting creative with decorations, which included making a corgi-themed front door display.

    The 39-year-old added she was in London today for the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, external.

    Planning began for a street party in Ashton-under-Lyne back in January and it ended up being "over the top" and "unbelievable", organisers said.

    A beacon was lit at a Hindu temple in Preston as about 3,000 were set ablaze across the UK and the Commonwealth on Thursday to mark the Jubilee.

    BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir has an extra reason to celebrate amid the festivities, as it marks the centennial year of spiritual leader Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

    Twins who have raised £46,000 for charity have become the youngest recipients of the Queen's birthday honours in her Platinum Jubilee year.

    Elena and Ruben Evans-Guillen, from Warrington in Cheshire, completed their first challenge at the age of six, running 100km in a year to raise money for a garden at the town's hospital.

    The 11-year-olds have since taken on trekking, kayaking and climbing.

    They have been awarded British Empire Medals for services to fundraising.

    In Nelson, residents each cooked their favourite dish from their culture to share at their street party.

    People enjoyed sampling what their neighbours had provided which included Polish, Lebanese, British, Pakistani and Iraqi specialities.

    Held at the Unity Wellbeing Centre, the events celebrated both the Queen's 70-year reign and also the diversity of the Lancashire town.

    Councillor Mashuq Hussain said the meal had welcomed "people from all walks of life".

    Resident Elaine Campbell said the celebrations had been "brilliant" and everyone had "a very, very nice time".

    Since February, the people of Poynton in Cheshire have been knitting, crocheting and felting thousands of flowers for some special Jubilee decorations.

    About 150 residents in Greater Manchester's Horwich have come together to celebrate the Jubilee.

    People of all ages got involved in a long tug of war, while others baked Jubilee-themed sweet treats in a cake competition.

    Anyone called Elizabeth who brought their ID have been able to ride on all its trains free of charge as part of the celebrations.

    Woolly postbox toppers have appeared in towns and villages across England, including in Wallasey, Merseyside to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.

    Keen crocheters have decorated their communities with bejewelled crowns and googly-eyed versions of the Queen to mark her 70 years on the throne.

    Julie Walker, who was the mastermind behind a yarn replica of the Queen's head, topped with a sparkling crown and matching earrings in Wallasey, said: "I loved making this one, watching her come to life."

    A three-year-old girl has been delighting care home residents by dressing up as the Queen for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

    Isla from Wigan in Greater Manchester dons a hat and pearls and has perfected a royal wave for her visits to a group of care homes her mother and grandparents all work for.
