A pilot scheme to support people who are struggling to pay for gas and electricity in Birkenhead is being extended across Wirral.
Energy company Npower set up a "fuel bank" at food banks in the town, providing vouchers worth £30 to households using pre-payment meters.
More than 500 vouchers have been issued since it opened in July, supporting over 1,000 people, the company said.
The pilot scheme will be rolled out across Wirral in 2016.

A community project to support vulnerable residents in Sefton has been awarded £313,961 lottery money.
The Growing Together project at the Netherton Park Community Association will include activities for disadvantaged children and young people as well as a food bank and a volunteer-run cafe.

For the first time in its history, Merseyrail will run trains on Boxing Day. Services will be every 30 minutes and will call at limited stations on the network, external between 09:00 and 18:30.

People who qualify for help from a foodbank also qualify for a fuel voucher that they can use to top up their pre-pay meter.

A scan on Mamadou Sakho's knee has revealed there was no anterior cruciate ligament rupture, the club has confirmed.
The Liverpool defender was injured during Sunday's 2-1 loss at home to Crystal Palace - he will see a consultant later for a full diagnosis.

A 34-year-old Merseyside man has been charged with arson after a dog died in a fire at a house on July Road in Tuebrook on Sunday.
He is also charged with assault, harrassment, driving while disqualified and no insurance. He will appear today at Liverpool Domestic Violence Court.
