We are going to see further outbreaks of rain this evening although these will clear to isolated showers during the night.
It will be very windy at first, especially near the coast, such as Hoylake and Southport, where there will be gales but the wind will gradually ease overnight.
Wednesday is mostly dry at first, but heavy rain will spread to all areas during the day, followed by brighter weather with heavy showers later.

Police are investigating after a shooting in Huyton this morning.
Emergency services were called to Parkside Close at around 11:50 to reports a man in his 30s had been shot in the legs.
He has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable.
Police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesman for the school which Lewis Dunne attended has offered his condolences, following the 16-year-old's death in Eldonian Village, Liverpool, on Sunday.

It means a metro mayor, who will be elected in 2017, will have sweeping powers over strategic planning and transport.
It still needs to be ratified by all councils on the City Region Combined Authority - this is due to happen on Thursday.

A spokesman at the City of Liverpool College has paid tribute to 16-year-old Lewis Dunne who was killed in a shooting in Vauxhall on Sunday.

Merseyside Police have confirmed tests have shown the 16-year-old killed in Liverpool was shot in his back once.
Lewis Dunne, from the Vauxhall area, was found on the towpath near to Burrows Court in Eldonian Village on Sunday night.
Merseyside Police say they are "becoming increasingly concerned" for the whereabouts of a missing 16-year-old from Prescot.
Ashley Roberts, who is of white and of average height and slim build with light brown hair, was last seen in the town at about 18:50 on 8 November.
A force spokesman says the teenager is known to frequent Newton-le-Willows and asked anyone who has seen him to get in touch.
