    Carl Eaton has collected the BBC Sport Unsung Hero award for the North West for his work setting up and running Skelmersdale Mens-Aces disability football club.

    He helped set up the club up in 2009, despite the increasing debilitating effects of spina bifida, and they now have up to 50 people turning out each week.

    A suspected arson attack which severely damaged a house in Huyton is being investigated by police.

    Fire crews were called to The Brooklands at 22:30 last Wednesday after reports an unoccupied detached property was on fire.

    Police believe "unknown offenders" broke into to the house and started the fire using an accelerant.

    The money from Historic England and Liverpool City Council will see the underground burial spaces, which were filled in during the 1990s, restored and eventually included as part of the tours run by the Friends of the Cemetery.
