    A Liverpool woman says more research is needed into Lyme disease, which she says has had a "devastating impact" on her life.

    Emma Horlock from Aigburth was diagnosed with the disease at a specialist clinic in Germany, after a test at an NHS Hospital came back negative. 

    The 41-year-old is trying to raise £60,000 to have specialist treatment in the US.

    Three men arrested in separate raids in north Liverpool have been charged following an investigation into money laundering. 

    A cannabis farm with around 100 plants was discovered by officers during searches on Chirkdale Street in Kirkdale. 

    Seven others questioned have now been released on bail while investigations continue.

    A man who drowned his cat in the bath has been jailed for 18 weeks and banned from keeping animals for life.

    Christopher Hurst held the black longhair cat Charlie under the water for 15 seconds until he died.

    The 38-year-old told an RSPCA inspector he drowned his pet on 12 September 2015 because he was angry, Chester Magistrates' Court heard.

    Eight people arrested in Liverpool as part of a police investigation into suspected drug dealing have been charged. 

    Officers from TITAN, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit, carried out raids early on Thursday after the discovery of more than £300,000 worth of amphetamines and cannabis. 

    The seven men and a woman, aged between 35 and 56, will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court later.

    Electricity North West is warning of the possibility of power cuts, as severe weather hits the region. 

    The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for severe gales and heavy rain across Merseyside and Cheshire. 

    Extra staff have been brought in in case there is disruption to power supplies.

    The match officials failed to spot that City's Raheem Sterling had run the ball out of play before crossing for Kevin de Bruyne to score City's second in their 3-1 win and Martinez said that "we're still hurting" after a 4-3 aggregate defeat denied them a Wembley final meeting with Liverpool.
