Over 50 years ago, Sir George Martin gave The Beatles a session at Abbey Road studios - launching the band's career.
The Beatles producer - who is credited for shaping the quartet's sound - told the BBC's Will Gompertz, that their first single, Love Me Do, was the "best of a bad bunch" of songs around at the time.

'Fifth Beatle' Sir George Martin dies, aged 90published at 08:07 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2016
Record producer Sir George Martin, known as the "fifth Beatle", has died, aged 90.
His family thanked "everyone for their thoughts, prayers and messages of support" after his death at home on Tuesday, his manager said.
Beatles drummer Ringo Starr broke the news on Twitter, external and led tributes, saying Sir George "will be missed".
