    Over 50 years ago, Sir George Martin gave The Beatles a session at Abbey Road studios - launching the band's career.

    The Beatles producer - who is credited for shaping the quartet's sound - told the BBC's Will Gompertz, that their first single, Love Me Do, was the "best of a bad bunch" of songs around at the time.
