A man has been charged with sending death threats to MP Luciana Berger..
Image source, PA/Gareth FullerThe Liverpool Wavertree MP received a number of emails on Friday, with one message allegedly saying "she is going to get it like Jo Cox did".
John Nimmo, 28, appeared before South Tyneside Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with sending a message causing anxiety or distress.
Mr Nimmo, of Moreland Road, South Shields, was remanded in custody and will appear for a further hearing on 27 July.
Radio Two presenter Janice Long has paid tribute to veteran radio presenter Stan Ambrose, died at the age of 86 earlier this week.
She worked with him at Radio Merseyside in the 1980s, where she presented the show Streetlife.
Mr Ambrose was the longest serving presenter at the station - hosting the weekly Folkscene show for 49 years.

Wallasey MP Angela Eagle has told BBC Radio Merseyside she "will not be intimidated" by online abuse.
"I'm not going to be intimidated by the misogyny and homophobia on social media", she said.
"But I would say this to the people who are causing the threats to my staff in the parliamentary office - nobody should be subjected to that kind of behaviour when they're going to work.
"It's bullying and intimidation and it needs to stop."
A woman from Margate who admitted sending disturbing messages on Twitter to the mother of murdered toddler James Bulger has been jailed for three years.
Image source, PAChloe Cowan, 20, from Margate in Kent, had pleaded guilty to stalking, involving serious alarm or distress, at Canterbury Crown Court.
She had posed as one of the toddler's killers and as his ghost in the tweets.
A charity that provides specialist advice on deaths in custody or detention has urged "robust scrutiny" following the death of Mzee Mohammed.

Lee Jasper, a race relations expert and former adviser to former London Mayor Ken Livingstone, has questioned the efficiency of the IPCC following the death of teenager Mzee Mohammed in the custody of police.
He said the IPCC "needs to be transparent and engender trust and confidence in the wider community and "needs enhanced powers to ensure public confidence.”
Mzee Mohammed had "a troubled past" but "he got past that", his mother has told the Liverpool Echo, external after her son died in police custody on Wednesday.
“He had a troubled past and he fell in with mates that had him in trouble and he got his Asbo. But he got past that. He had kind eyes and his smile would light up a room.
“He enjoyed life and he was a gentle giant,” she said.
The mother of Liverpool teenager Mzee Mohammed, who died in police custody on Wednesday, has told the Liverpool Echo that her son had turned his life around , externaland had recently returned to school to get his maths and English GCSEs.
Karla said: “We all thought once he came off the Asbo he would go back [to trouble]. But he didn’t. He just wanted to be here with me - his mum and his sisters."
She said “intelligent and ambitious” Mzee did not touch drugs and dreamed of becoming a chef.
“He was one of the most kind-hearted, generous people I knew and he was very protective of his sisters... his family was his world, he devoted his attention to his three sisters - who called him ‘bear’."
IPCC investigators have been overseeing the examination of the scene and the "post incident procedure" following the death of an 18-year-old man after being detained by police at Liverpool One shopping centre.

Floral tributes have been left at Liverpool One by friends and relatives of Mzee Mohammed.
A Home Office post-mortem examination will take place at 15:00 BST after the death of a man in police custody in Liverpool last night.
Merseyside Police said just after 18:00 BST on Wednesday they received a report about a man having run into a house in the Toxteth area of the city in a distressed state. The man left the address when seen by the occupant.
The force said it received further calls from the public, describing a man with a knife "behaving erratically" at a number of locations throughout the city centre, including Liverpool One.
He was eventually located near to Liverpool One by security and police where it was quickly established that he appeared to be suffering from a "medical episode" and an ambulance was called.
He was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital where he was pronounced dead just before 19:55.
Police say the matter was immediately referred to the IPCC because of police involvement with the man before he died.
Merseyside Police say specialist officers are providing support to the dead 18-year-old man's family.
