    The Canaries will be without centre-back Timm Klose, who is suspended as a result of his red card in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United at the weekend.

    Lukas Rupp, Max Aarons and Adam Idah are all being monitored after suffering minor injuries.

    Norwich are bottom of the table, without a win since the restart and six points from safety.

  6. Commercial flights to resume at airportpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 30 June 2020

    Commercial flights from Norwich Airport are resuming from July with the first flight to Bourgas in Bulgaria.

    The airport said from August people will be able to travel to Amsterdam, while more scheduled planes will operate to Aberdeen.

    Flights to Edinburgh will start in September, with winter season flights to Tenerife scheduled from 8 October.

    Norwich Airport, external has remained open for offshore helicopter flights, medical and military flights during the lockdown.

    The airport said safety measures include enhanced cleaning in the terminal and the rest of the site, additional hand sanitiser units and a one-way system in place for passengers.

    Richard Pace, managing director of Norwich Airport, said: "In the middle a difficult period for aviation and UK business as a whole, a return to commercial flying marks the first signs of recovery and gives a much-needed boost to regional and international air connectivity."

    She said: "Ghostie is a ghost corn snake - grey with a chess board underbelly.

    "He is not a danger at all, he won't bite and is not venomous. His tank lid was slightly ajar for some unknown reason."

  10. City's main theatre cancels panto for 2020published at 13:19 British Summer Time 29 June 2020

    Norwich's Theatre Royal has announced it is postponing this year's pantomime.

    Dick Whittington will instead be staged over Christmas 2021.

    A statement said: "The huge financial losses we are currently experiencing due to an extended period of closure, as well as there having been no government support package for theatres, mean that we are no longer able to commit to such a large scale production because of its substantial up-front costs."

    The show was due to run 8 December-10 January.

    Residents are trying to save a poppy field popular with photographers and Instagrammers from development as an industrial estate.

    The field at Keswick, near Norwich, has become a hit on social media with dozens of people sharing photos of it.

    Outline planning permission for the scheme was granted in 2018, but some locals want to see it abandoned.

    Developer Apex said the scheme would provide 1,000 jobs and that the poppies were allowed to grow to "bring joy to many people during lockdown".

    One resident, who asked not to be named, told the BBC: "This development would fundamentally change one of the most beautiful gateways into the city."

    Five people have been arrested following an incident involving a knife on the Norfolk coast on Thursday night.

    Norfolk Police, external say two men in Mundesley, near Cromer, had minor injuries.

    Officers were called after reports of a man with a knife in Munhaven Close.

    No weapon was recovered and police say an investigation is ongoing.

    Peter Jay, owner of Great Yarmouth's Hippodrome Circus, external, said not being able to open on 4 July had "thrown a spanner in the works".

    "The artists are not singing towards the audience which I think they were afraid of, and they are family groups doing all the acts, so it works well for us," he said.

    A spokesperson for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) said it was "doing all we can to support the sector through government grants, loans, the furlough scheme and the Arts Council's £160m emergency response package".

    The spokesperson added: "We are working with the sector to get it fully back up and running as soon as possible and considering ways in which we may be able to support it further in addition to this unprecedented financial assistance."
