BBC NewsA man has been found guilty of sex offences against children dating back four decades - with some of the victims aged between four and five years old.
Colin Waterfield, 70, of Stonehouse Road in Norwich, has been convicted of 24 offences at the city's crown court, including serious sexual abuse and possession of extreme pornographic images.
The five-week trial heard the offences took place in the Norwich area between 1973 and 1995 and victims included eight boys and girls.
Det Insp Paul Brown said: "Waterfield preyed on vulnerable children... purely for his own sexual gratification.
"It was abuse of the most horrendous kind.
"The children involved not only suffered physical harm, but many have been left psychologically scarred and as adults are struggling to come to terms with what happened."
He is due to be sentenced on 17 January.

BBC Look East weatherIt'll be a dry night with some clear spells across the eastern region with mist and fog forming quite extensively, there's an expected minimum temperature of 5C (41F).
The mist and fog will gradually clear tomorrow morning, although it may linger in some parts into the afternoon, with temperatures likely to reach 9C (48F).

Fire crews were called out at about 11:30 today and the blaze was brought under control by about 12:30.
Police said the fire was thought to have been caused by an electrical fault.

BBC Radio NorfolkNorwich City forward Cameron Jerome could return tonight in the home clash against Huddersfield Town.
The Canaries could go fourth in The Championship if they're able to gain three points.
However, Portuguese front man Nelson Oliveira has scored three goals in as many games, so Jerome could find it difficult to get back into the Norwich XI.
City have won their last two home games without conceding a goal and will hope to continue that trend later.

BBC NewsThe head of a media firm which has bought a clutch of East Anglian and East Midlands newspapers in a £17m deal says he believes in the future of the local press.
Cambridge company Iliffe Media has taken on 13 titles from Johnston Press, external.
They are: the Lynn News, Fenland Citizen, Diss Express, Bury Free Press, Haverhill Echo, Newmarket Journal, Suffolk Free Press, Stamford Mercury, Rutland Times, Bourne Local, Grantham Journal, Spalding Guardian and Lincs Free Press.
Edward Iliffe, chief executive of Iliffe Media, said: "We are delighted to have acquired these well-respected local newspapers.
"Iliffe Media, with its long heritage as an independent family run media business, firmly believes in the future of local newspaper publishing across all platforms. We’re looking forward to welcoming our new colleagues."

BBC NewsFormer EastEnders actor Joseph Shade has appeared in court charged with sex offences against four teenage girls.
Image source, PAThe youth worker, from Cliff Road, Sheringham, played Peter Beale in the soap from 1998 until 2004.
Mr Shade, 23, was accused of eight counts of inciting a person under 18 to engage in sexual activity while in a position of trust, and one count of sexual activity with a child.
He denied the charges at Norwich Crown Court.
His trial is set for 31 July.
The alleged offences are said to have occurred between 2012 and 2015 and to have involved girls aged between 13 and 16.
Mr Shade is one of a number of actors who have appeared in the BBC soap playing Ian and Cindy Beale's son.
The character was named after his grandfather, market stallholder Pete Beale.

BBC NewsWe earlier told you about a baby deer that had been taken in by Hillside Animal Sanctuary in Frettenham, near Norwich.
Image source, Hillside Animal SanctuaryWe have now discovered that the fawn, now named Tinsel, was rescued by a black Labrador.
The dog surprised his owners by carrying the fawn into their home.
Hillside founder Wendy Valentine said: "Our vet was at a call out and his client's Labrador turned up with a deer in its mouth.
"Labradors are very soft mouthed so the deer was not harmed at all."

BBC NewsA ward at a hospital used by patients from Suffolk and Norfolk, refurbished as part of a £1.65m revamp, is due to open in April.
Image source, GoogleNHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) governing body approved plans to reopen the newly refurbished Minsmere Ward at Beccles Hospital as an intermediate care unit.
It comes following a major refurbishment of the 20-bed facility, carried out in partnership with NHS Property Services
Once the hospital reopens, eight single en-suite rooms will be available, along with three four-bed bays with separate toilet and washing facilities, all of which will meet "dementia-friendly" standards.
Cath Byford, director of commissioning and quality with the CCG, said: "This major transformation will significantly improve the experience our patients have when receiving care at Beccles while also helping the James Paget [in Gorleston, Norfolk] to discharge patients who no longer need acute care, in turn making best use of its beds."
