1. Canaries back four have just 'clicked'published at 16:08 British Summer Time 25 September 2017

    Jay Lawrence
    BBC Radio Norfolk

Norwich City goalkeeper Angus Gunn says his side's defence have just "clicked" over recent weeks.

The Canaries made it four Championship clean sheets in a row on Saturday with the 0-0 against Bristol City at Carrow Road.

Norwich will hope to continue that streak with a trip to Middlesbrough tomorrow.

Gunn says that while three points are the priority, he's pleased with how the defence is progressing.

"The back four and myself take massive pride in [the run of clean sheets]. It didn't look like it was going to happen after the start to the season.

"After the international break, something just clicked.

"We're happy with our defensive work in those games. At the end of the day we need to win games, so if that means winning 5-4 we have to do that as well."

  3. Signalling upgrade on rail linespublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 25 September 2017

A new signalling system is to be installed on train lines in the Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft area.

The work, which will see 66 new colour light LED signals, 22 power operated points, and a remote computer-based signalling control system replacing levers, is part of Network Rail's investment plans for railways.

Level crossings that are currently operated by a crossing keeper will be replaced with barriers remotely controlled by a signaller using CCTV cameras.

Network Rail says this will improve journey times and reduce the amount of time the barriers are down, meaning fewer delays and congestion for motorists.

There'll be changes to rail services between Norwich and Lowestoft, and Norwich and Great Yarmouth for nine days from Saturday, 21 October until Monday, 30 October while the work is under way and passengers are advised to check before they travel.

    • Norwich - Great Yarmouth: Rail replacement bus service runs 21-30 October
    • Norwich - Lowestoft midweek: Peak services operating as normal from Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 10:00 and 16:00 - 19:00
    • Norwich - Lowestoft weekend: Rail replacement bus service for weekends of 21-23 October and 28-30 October, with train services suspended from late Friday until early Monday morning

Mr Lewis said it's an attempt to stifle debate: "This is the quintissential issue of our generation.

"To not be discussing that elephant in the room, the issue of Brexit, the single market, freedom of movement, I think is wrong and I think it's a mistake, and I think we should be discussing it."

An update has been given to a Norwich MP on a review into the murder of a woman in the city beaten to death by her boyfriend.

Chloe Smith, the MP for Norwich North, yesterday met the independent chair of a Domestic Homicide Review into the case.

She says the inquiry must run its course, but an important point shouldn't be lost.

"The key message that must come out of this case is that others should feel free to speak up," she said.

"There will be things that this case shows could have perhaps been done better, could be done better in the future, must be done to stop other people suffering the same fate, but a crucial part of that is that anybody suffering domestic abuse should feel free to speak out."

A spokeswoman for Norfolk County Council said: "The Norfolk Community Safety Partnership, external is currently undertaking a Domestic Homicide Review.

"Reviews are carried out after any death where domestic abuse is implicated."

The authority has yet to say when the review will conclude.

Greyfriars Art Space was set up to enable artists to show their work and provide studio space for them.

But the owner says she has to put the building on the market next year to meet family commitments.

Cathy Cousins, who runs the gallery, said: "We're in a quandary at the moment because nobody can afford to buy it, but we're trying to raise funds in different ways.

"We've looked at getting charity status, we've been looking at funding, we've got lots of fundraising ideas coming up."

    Jay Lawrence
    BBC Radio Norfolk

Bristol City Manager Lee Johnson says his side will have to be "at their very best" against "Premier League quality" Norwich this weekend.

The Canaries host the West Country side tomorrow in The Championship, hoping to keep their unbeaten streak going.

The Robins have made a fine start to their season. They're up to eighth in the league, in the last 16 of the League Cup and they're also now eight unbeaten.

Despite his comments about Norwich, Johnson says he's still confident of victory.

"We're going against a top side in the division, a side that is full of Premier League quality. They've recruited very well in the summer and they've got a formidable home record.

"For us to go there and achieve maximum points we'll have to be at our absolute best. If we continue with the confidence levels we've got, I wouldn't bet against us."

  20. Greater Anglia apology as its communication criticisedpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 22 September 2017

Greater Anglia has apologised after travellers criticised the rail operator for a lack of communication following an incident on the line near Ingatestone.

Services to and from the capital were disrupted for about six hours yesterday afternoon after a person was struck by a train.

Spokeswoman Kerri Worral said: "The staff on the trains should have been making regular announcements just to keep people informed of what was happening.

"At the stations we have our customer information screens, they're a help-point, and at some stations we ask extra staff to go down to those stations to support the staff that are there.

"I know staff on staff stations do everything they can to try and keep people informed, but when there's large volumes of people that can become more difficult."
