    She's already a Special Olympics superstar, but 18-year-old Kiera Byland is on the hunt for more gold medals.

    Last night she co-hosted the opening ceremony in Sheffield for over 2,600 athletes from across the country.

    Today she's competing in the 10k time trial.

    It wasn't easy for Kiera growing up with learning difficulties, but when she discovered cycling, her life changed dramatically.

    Relatives of the pensioner murdered in East Harling have paid tribute to his "kind nature".

    Peter Wrighton, 83, was stabbed while walking his two dogs in woodland on Saturday.

    He died from multiple stab wounds to his neck and head, a post-mortem examination showed.

    The murder weapon has not yet been found and police are urging anyone who lives withing a five mile radius to check their bins for the weapon.

    Peter retired to the area 30 years ago, where he lived a "simple life" with his family and dogs.

    His wife of 59 years and his family said: "Peter was immensely kind and never had a bad word to say about anybody and people always seemed to take a liking to him.

    "We are extremely thankful for all the people who have come forward to speak with the police and hope we will soon be able to understand why this has happened.

    "When we think of Peter we remember him with with fond and happy memories that will stay with us always.”

    Police believe the public may hold the key to finding the killer and are asking anyone near the area who has CCTV or dashcam footage from Saturday to contact them.

    A man who was murdered while walking his two dogs in woodland on Saturday has been named.

    Peter Wrighton, 83, from Banham near East Harling, has been described as "a lovely, gentle husband, dad and grandfather".

    Enquiries continue into the murder and detectives still believe that the public may hold the key to finding the killer.

    Norwich City are through to round two of the League Cup after an entertaining night at Carrow Road, and it wasn't just the football which got people talking.

    It's hard to say what had City fans more mesmerised, the team's attacking play through Wes Hoolahan and James Maddison in the first half, or the goose which decided to take a tour of Carrow Road after half-time.

    A motorcyclist has been injured in a crash on the outskirts of Norwich this morning.

    Emergency services were called to Fakenham Road, outside Tesco, just before 10:00.

    The road is currently blocked and motorists are being advised to avoid the area as long delays are expected.

  11. Pig transporter crashes on A134published at 10:24 British Summer Time 9 August 2017

    A pig transporter has crashed off Suffolk's A134 at Ingham.

    Police, paramedics and firefighters are on site, with vets heading to check out the state of the animals.

    The road is currently closed.

  12. Closures for work on northern distributor roadpublished at 10:00 British Summer Time 9 August 2017

    A main route in and out of Norwich has been closed permanently to traffic as work progresses on the northern distributor road.

    The Holt Road will be blocked from the A140 roundabout at St Faiths, up to Horsford, diverting traffic onto Reepham Road and Drayton Lane.

    The B1149 south of Horsford has been shut so the A140 can be connected to the Norwich Northern Distributor Road.

    Traffic between Norwich and Holt will be sent on a different route.

    Sanders Coaches says it expects services to be delayed and the county council admits it's going to put extra cars through residential streets or onto smaller country lanes.

    It's asking drivers to slow down and be patient to ensure safety isn't compromised.

    However, there are also fears that this will put people off visiting Holt, with some traders fearing they'll lose out in what should be a busy summer holiday period.

    As Kate Kinsella explained, the Met Office has released another a yellow weather warning for the East., external

    This means an area of heavy rain will sink slowly southwards across the east and southeast of England during today.

    Some transport routes may be affected by localised flooding leading to longer journey times. In addition, flooding of homes and businesses is possible.

    The heaviest of the rain should gradually become confined to the extreme southeast of the UK later in the day.

    Norwich City last night beat Swindon Town 3-2 to earn head coach Daniel Farke his first win in charge.

    The Canaries won the League Cup first round tie thanks to first half goals from Cameron Jerome, Wes Hoolahan and James Maddison.

    Swindon had led 1-0 and a second header from a set piece pulled the scores back to 3-2 and set up a tense last half hour.

    City face Sunderland in the Championship next on Sunday.
