BreakingDurham Tees Valley Airport is to launch new flights to Aberdeen and Norwich.
From 15 October, Loganair will provide up to three weekday flights to Aberdeen and six weekly flights to Norwich.
Airport chief executive Steve Gill called the announcement a "real shot in the arm for the airport" and said it's "very good news" for the region's business community.

BBC NewsA charity shop in North Walsham has been boarded up after a car crashed into it.
The front of Break on Market Place was badly damaged at about 01:30 on Sunday.
Norfolk Police is investigating to try and identify the driver.

Retail business manager Lesley Leigh said: "We’re hoping we’ll be able to trade and still take donations soon but, until we do an investigation today, we’re unsure when that will be.
"Obviously it’s going to be a major building job and the work is going to take a few weeks, I’d imagine."

BBC NewsA murder investigation has begun after the discovery of a body in East Harling, near Thetford, on Saturday.
Police were called at about 10:45 to reports that a man had been found dead in woodland near the Fiveways junction.
A post-mortem examination concluded the cause of death will need further investigation but that the victim appears to have been seriously assaulted.

The Portugese forward took off his shirt and ran towards Farke pointing at his name and number. He'd been left on the bench at the start of the game.
