There have been seven bodies found in Northamptonshire in the past 40 years that have still not been identified, a BBC investigation has uncovered.

Unclaimed without a name: Daventry, Northants. Case details: Woman, 50 to 65, found on grass next to the M45, 10 April 2002.

The national Missing Persons Bureau says in too many cases it has proved impossible to establish an identity as a body may have been disposed of, without samples having been taken.

Louise Veseley-Shore, from the National Crime Agency, said where bodies have been cremated, no DNA profile will ever be gleaned and bodies buried in multiple graves make finding the "right" body "challenging".
