Reflecting on her time in the competition, Lesley said: "Learning a new dance every week has just been lovely, working with Anton has been an absolute joy and we’ve laughed a lot. It’s been just a lovely, lovely, lovely journey and it’s come to an end and that’s absolutely fine. We’ve loved it."

Anton was similarly full of nothing but praise for Lesley: "I would just like to say thank you very much, you enriched my whole Strictly experience this year. Dancing with you has been an absolute joy. You pushed me to be more creative and make the numbers better.

I think it's selfish to say the UK should not play its part in this. It's only actually a small proportion of asylum seekers who want to come to the UK."
