    Despite losing 1-0 to Bradford, Northampton Town manager Rob Page said his side "gave absolutely everything" during the game and that he backs his team "100%".

    It is the Cobblers third straight defeat and it doesn't get any easy for them as they host Bolton, currently third in League One, on Saturday.

    But Page says they can't "dwell [on the loss] or sulk about it", their form will change and they "have to make sure that is against Bolton".

    Northampton Town fell to a third successive defeat last night, losing 1-0 away at Bradford City.

    James Hanson's second-half goal for the Bantams was the only difference, with the striker heading in from close range.

    However, the Cobblers came close to equalising when a one-handed save by Colin Doyle kept out Alex Revell's header from Paul Anderson's cross, before substitute Marc Richards had the ball in the net in the 84th minute, only to be ruled offside.

    Northampton have now slipped to 15th in the League One table.

    Two people have been seriously injured in a crash in the the south of the county.

    It involved three cars and happened on the A422 near Brackley, just past the Banbury Road Roundabout, at about 16:00 yesterday.

    The drivers of two of the vehicles suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital in Oxford.

    Police are appealing for witnesses, external.

    Carlsberg has said that that it "anticipates" some brewing in Northampton will resume tomorrow after production ceased following an ammonia leak on 9 November.

    The company said that the work by an on-site team investigating the death of worker David Chandler during the leak had finished.

    Carlsberg says its production teams have returned to the brewery were able to package some beer over the weekend.

    Julian Momen, chief executive officer of Carlsberg UK, said those affected by the incident would be "supported over the coming weeks and months".

    One person who was in critical condition is improving and remains in hospital.

    BT says that many of the phone boxes in Northamptonshire it would like to get rid of are rarely, if ever, used.

    For example, in Byfield, the payphone on the green has been used to make 39 calls in the last 12 months, and villagers would like to save it.

    The phone at Whilton Locks hasn't been used at all, but the parish council there still wants to save it.

    Neil Scoresby from BT says the boxes can be used for other things, includiing housing defibrillators, but to keep them as working phone boxes costs money, whether they are used or not.

    BT wants to remove 172 phone boxes across Northamptonshire, including 52 traditional red ones.

    Over half of the boxes earmarked for removal are in Daventry and South Northamptonshire.

    Four friends from Northampton were killed returning home from a festival when their car ploughed head-on into another vehicle, an inquest heard.

    Driver Sam Jones, 23, and friends Brogan Warren (right), 21, Sam Kay (left), 26 and Nicoletta Tocco, 25, died in the collision on the A40 Shrivenham bypass in Oxfordshire in May this year.

    Oxford Coroner's Court heard Mr Jones was on the wrong side of the 60mph single carriageway road and, as he swerved his blue Citroen Saxo to avoid a black Mercedes B180 coming in the opposite direction, they collided head-on.

    The Citroen, which was heading towards Oxford, overturned and suffered "catastrophic damage", the court heard.

    Mr Jones and his friends were pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, while the occupants of the Mercedes, a married couple from Swindon and their three-year-old son, required hospital treatment.

    The group were travelling back from Bristol festival VegFest when the accident happened at 23:15 on 22 May. 

    Oxford coroner Darren Salter recorded that they had died in a road traffic collision.

  17. Lindsay Lohan keeps Kettering waitingpublished at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2016

    Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan is yet to give Kettering Borough Council a firm answer on whether she will be coming to help switch on the Christmas lights.

    The council says it is still hopeful the 30-year-old will be at the ceremony. We have also tried to contact Miss Lohan's management but have yet to receive a response.

    The star was invited to perform the task by the town's MP, Philip Hollobone, after an "offensive" tweet on EU referendum night in which she asked, "sorry, but Kettering where are you?"

    If she does come she'll be performing the task alongside Eastenders star Cheryl Fergison, who is in the panto at the Kettering Lighthouse theatre.

    The council will be hoping for answer pretty soon as the big switch on is this Thursday.

    You might have heard the national news today about Donald Trump saying UKIP leader Nigel Farage would do a "great job" as the British Ambassador to Washington.

    Well (unsurprisingly) the UKIP Euro MP for the East Midlands agrees.

    Snooker's only black professional says the sport's governing body is "not doing anything" to attract more black people to take up the sport.

    Since joining the main tour in 2001, Rory McLeod, who was born and lived in Wellingborough until recently, has been the only black player to compete.

    "What World Snooker are bothered about is the prize money and sponsors. That is it," McLeod, 45, told BBC Sport.

    However, WPBSA chairman Jason Ferguson says the comments are "completely unfair" and the sport is open to all.
