Conservative Central Office has denied reports it will look "in more depth" at Mr Mackintosh's part in the 2013 loan.

However, Conservative Central Office issued its own statement, reporting that "the Conservative Party is not investigating". It refused to comment further.

    Martin Heath
    BBC Radio Northampton

There has been nothing official about what will happen to the facilities at Daventry University Technical College when it closes next year.

    Daventry UTC

Another option would be Northampton College, which has a campus in Daventry.

Whether Moulton College, the school's main sponsor, or the University of Northampton, another of the sponsors, or indeed Daventry District Council and Northamptonshire County Council, have any interest in the build remains to be seen.

    Matt Precey
    BBC Look East

A statement issued by Northampton South Conservative Association says the leadership of the party nationally "wishes to take a more in-depth look at the several issues" raised by the internal auditor's report on the loan to Northampton Town Football Club.

Specifically it wants to look at "the role played" by David Mackintosh, who is now the Northampton South MP but was leader of Northampton Borough Council at the time of the loan in 2013.

    David Mackintosh

The report by PricewaterhouseCoopers identified a number of issues with the approval and handing over of the loan, and said that due to "political and management pressure" it was not properly checked.

The majority of the £10.25m given to the club, under its previous ownership, has gone missing, external.

For the time being the confidence vote in David Mackintosh, which was to be held by the Northampton South Conservative Association tomorrow, has been set aside until this investigation is completed.

  14. What has led to the closure of Daventry's UTC?published at 10:20 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2016

    Martin Heath
    BBC Radio Northampton

University technical colleges (UTCs) take pupils from the age of 14, and that seems to be part of the problem behind the impending closure of Daventry's UTC.

Primary schools help pupil transition into secondary schools, but there is nobody helping pupils change at 14.

Last week the BBC saw a letter that shows the government is considering asking councils to write to parents explaining other schooling options - including UTCs.

    Daventry UTC

The other problem is a historical one, with a poor reputation, among some, for the education in Daventry.

There is a feeling with a proportion of parents, external that they simply should not go for a Daventry secondary education at all.

These two factors combined seemed to have spelt the end of Daventry's UTC.

  15. Daventry UTC closing next yearpublished at 09:53 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2016

    Martin Heath
    BBC Radio Northampton

Daventry's University Technical College, which only opened in January 2014, is to close next year.

    Daventry UTC

The school has struggled to recruit enough students and the trustees have decided it's no longer viable, even though a new principal was brought in earlier this year to try to turn things around.

It has places for 600 students but there are currently only 123 on the roll.

No more students are being accepted, and pupils in years 10 and 12 will be transferred to other schools.

The 31-year-old also described the British Grand Prix at the circuit as "a very special race".

He hopes to go the heritage centre once it's open, and given that he retired from the sport last week, he'll certainly have the time.

It's taken five years to get the museum approved, but it can finally happen thanks to a £9m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

Sally Reynolds, CEO of Silverstone Heritage Limited, said "We were delighted to hear that our bid has been successful.

"This means that work on the project can start in the new year and that the Silverstone Heritage Experience can open to the public in spring 2019."

Sir Peter Luff, chairman of HLF, said: "Silverstone is a place where so many legends of British motor racing have their roots.

"The speed and the glamour, though, are only part of the success of British motorsport since the late 1940s.

"More of the stories in this exciting heritage can now be told; stories of drivers and sporting glory, yes, but also of the extraordinary creativity of British engineering."
