  5. Notts Police 'do not take lightly' IPCC's recommendationspublished at 17:07

    Here is further Nottinghamshire Police reaction to the IPCC's report in the assault rifle incident.  

    Chief Constable Chris Eyre said: "Public safety is our number one priority and we do not take lightly the recommendations made in the report in respect of operational firearms and public displays and our training of firearms officers".

  8. Mansfield pool set to re-open after gas leak concernspublished at 15:53

    I suspect there's much relief across Mansfield this afternoon as I've learnt that the Water Meadows swimming complex is set to re-open around 16:00 this afternoon. 

    Among 60 customers were forced to vacate the pool earlier this morning amid concerns about a suspected gas leak.

    Imagine if you'd forgotten your trunks...

    Here's more from the IPCC report into the incident that saw aseven-year-old accidentally hit by a bullet case on a visit to Nottinghamshire Police.

    The IPCC asked the police officer about the mother's allegation that her daughter was offered a loaded assault rifle, to which he said it was "not something I recall specifically".

    He went on to say: "That's not to say that it maybe didn't happen. It's certainly something I don't recall".
