    A light aircraft crashed with a van shortly after taking off from Lambley Airstrip at about 12:40, police have said.

    The fire service said one man is being treated by paramedics but is not thought to be seriously hurt.

    Crews from Arnold, Carlton and Highfields attended the scene near Green Lane.

    “A cordon is in place around the aircraft and Green Lane is closed to traffic while the area is examined," a police spokesman said.

    “The Civil Aviation Authority has been informed."

    A light aircraft has crashed near Lambley airstrip.

    Police say they don't believe there are any injuries.

    It is thought to have come down shortly after take-off within the last hour.

    Network Rail has just revealed its plan for the East Midlands for the next 30 years, and it doesn’t look like good news if you use the Robin Hood Line. 

    The report , externalacknowledges overcrowding on the route between Nottingham, Mansfield and Worksop but says there’s no valid “value for money” business case for providing additional carriages on services.

    East Midlands Trains are now saying it'll be 12:00 before stolen signalling cables are replaced.

    The line remains closed between Nottingham and Grantham and a replacement bus service is running.

    Notts County Council leader Alan Rhodes has just apologised to the victims of historic child abuse in the city and county.

    He was speaking at a full council meeting at County Hall.

    It comes after the sentencing of Andris Logins yesterday for 17 sexual offences at the former Beechwood care home in the 1980s.

    Colin Barrett, who's boycotting Forest's 150th anniversary dinner said the ticket prices have "wiped out 99.9% of supporters from going to it".

    He added: "The club have to realise it's not all about money."

    He went on to admit that he'd not yet been invited and joked that "maybe I won't be invited anyway".

    Nottingham Forest European cup winner, Colin Barrett, says he won’t be attending the club's 150th Anniversary Gala Dinner because the ticket prices are too expensive for fans. 

    The event will be held on Monday 2 May and the club is charging up to £2,400 for a table of 10, with the cheapest table of 10 starting at £1,000 plus VAT.

    Barrett said: "I just think it's a scandalous price...they should've started the prices lower down." 

    He went on to say that the prices have "wiped out 99.9% of supporters from going to it".

    We've asked Forest for a comment but they haven't responded.

    East Midlands Trains says it's now expecting the line between Nottingham and Grantham to fully reopen at about 11:00., external

    A replacement bus service is running in both directions between the two stations.

    It's been caused by cable thefts at Bingham.
