    This message to the Queen seems fairly easy to read on this photo, but in reality it's tiny.

    It's been written by a team of scientists from the University of Nottingham on hair from a Corgi dog, external using special microscope technology.

    The idea came about to demonstrate the facilities of the university's new £12m Nanoscale and Microscale Research Centre (NMRC) in the School of Chemistry.

    In an unusual move, Nottinghamshire Police are inviting people to join them at night to watch stop and search powers being used, external by officers.

    People can observe the operations on selected evenings from next month until December.

    The force said it had taken the move to "promote transparency and build stronger community relationships".

    The Nott Forgotten design challenge, external is a competition which aims to revitalise sites within Nottingham’s Lace Market.

    The five locations earmarked for potential transformation will be revealed at an event at the Malt Cross tonight.

    The evening will feature talks by representatives from Nottingham’s Creative Quarter plus local artist Wolfgang Buttress.

    The Creative Quarter is backing their project with funding also coming from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

    More than 80 authorities, including the county council, have signed a declaration on tobacco control, external, which outlines their commitment to tackling smoking and its harmful effects.

    A Public Health England spokeswoman said the organisation was not aware of any other local authority in the country who has taken such a stance on smoking.

    A group of architects have launched a competition to revitalise areas of the Lace Market that have been forgotten.

    One of them is this car park in High Pavement opposite the Galleries of Justice.

    We've now heard Notts County's reaction to news about gangs targeting matches with the aim of causing trouble.

    In a statement, a spokesman for the club said: "Notts County Football Club do not condone the behaviour of a very small minority of ‘fans'.

    "We are working hard with the relevant authorities to identify the individuals responsible and will take any appropriate action as necessary."

    Nottinghamshire County Council's smoking ban stops staff from lighting up in its buildings, on its land and in vehicles.

    Staff working on behalf of the council away from the office and contractors are also banned.

    Emma Pickett from the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers said the family cafe, which is said to be the first of its kind in Nottingham, is not a totally new concept, but breastfeeding support and resources for expressing were new.

    She said: "I think it sounds like a really interesting idea. I like the way it acknowledges the needs of expressing mums and those with older children and that it offers breastfeeding support.

    "If every town and village had one, I can imagine mums' lives might be a whole lot easier."

    Ms Purdie who came up with the idea of the family cafe said she sometimes felt uncomfortable herself when breastfeeding her son in regular coffee shops, so wanted to create a space where mums could be relaxed.

    The cafe also includes breastfeeding 'comfort' rooms and will see a support worker coming in to talk to mums.
