    The council's policy committee will meet at 10:30 to discuss its smokefree proposals so we'll bring you an update when we get it.

    If approved, the ban will come into force next month.

    Nottingham Forest have virtually secured Championship football at The City Ground next season after what was a pretty drab 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers last night.

    Dexter Blackstock gave the Reds the lead after 15 minutes but Danny Graham equalised only six minutes later.

    Forest remain nine points clear of the relegation zone, with only three matches remaining.

    The smoking ban plans were first suggested by the council last September.

    It will see all of its 9,000 staff banned from smoking during working hours whether on council property or working away - in uniform or not - and in county council vehicles.

    The authority says it also wants to encourage staff not to smoke in their own cars if they use them for work and parents not to smoke at school gates.

    If you're a smoker and work for Nottinghamshire County Council, plans to stop you lighting up during working hours could be approved today.

    The authority says it wants to help improve the health of its employees.
