    Extra doctors have been drafted in to three GP surgeries in Carlton and Netherfield after the sudden closure of the Willows Medical Practice.

    The surgery was closed indefinitely on Friday after an inspection by The Care Quality Commission but we haven't been told yet the reasons for the closure.

    Multinational companies benefit from the EU because it makes the market less competitive according to North West Leicestershire MP Andrew Bridgen.

    “Large companies like regulation they can cope with it. The relative cost to an [small to medium sized business]... is ten times the cost to a large company of implementing any form of regulation," he said.

    Almost 4,000 patients at the Willows Medical Centre in Carlton are being told to use alternative doctors surgeries this morning.

    It was closed indefinitely by health officials at The Care Quality Commission on Friday night.

    Patients affected by the closure are being told to contact three other surgeries in Carlton and Netherfield for appointments.

    Notts County are set to sign the former Rotherham United goalkeeper Adam Collin.

    Terms have been agreed between the Magpies and the 31-year-old, who was released by the Millers at the end of the season.

    Collin, who previously played for Carlisle United, is expected for a medical, prior to completing his move to the Meadow Lane club.

    Entrepreneur and Remain campaigner Madi Sharma said being in the EU gave her access to a market of 500 million customers.

    "BMW, Mercedes and Aldi will be kicking down the door of the European Commission saying we need that British business", so said UKIP MEP Roger Helmer.

    He said the UK is the biggest customer in the world of European exports and it is in the EU's interest to keep a free trade agreement in the event of Brexit.

    Police are still questioning two people who were arrested yesterday, external following a disturbance outside the Stadium pub in Basford in the early hours.

    A 29-year-old man suffered "non-life threatening injuries" and was taken to the QMC for treatment.

    In a lively debate on the EU referendum, former Chancellor Ken Clarke accused the Vote Leave campaign of "Donald Trump type nonsense" and trying to scare voters over immigration.

    If you're travelling towards Leicester this morning you should be aware the police have closed a section of the M1.

    The motorway is CLOSED southbound between J24 and J22 southbound because there's a man on a bridge.

    Drivers are being diverted off the motorway and along other routes.
