    Anti-fracking campaigners say an application for an exploratory drill in the village of Misson will set a "dangerous precedent" if approved by county councillors.

    Just to recap the planning officer has told councillors iGas's application should be approved and said on balance, the proposed development was acceptable. 

    Misson Parish Council then went through a list of "significant harmful impacts" they said exploratory drilling could have on the local area.

    Six designs have been put forward for a new £18m heritage railway museum which will sit alongside the Leicester North Station of the GCR, which spans Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.

    The plan is part of a wider project to reconnect two stretches of line, external between Leicester and Nottingham to create an unbroken 18 mile (23km) heritage route.

    Brian Davey from campaign group, Frack Free Notts says to councillors: "You'll have to explain to your grandchildren why you approved something with grave consequences."

    Helen Mitcham, from Frack Free Nottingham, is one of the protesters at the meeting who's been lobbying county councillors this morning.

    She said: "You don't do exploratory drilling for no reason. This is a business and they only do things for business purposes.

    "There were over 2,600 objections to this planning application and only 14 were in support."

    They've set up an ebay account, external featuring unwanted items owned by the force. 

    A silver-plated candelabra and silver mustard pot are among the goods up for grabs, along with four stainless steel shot glasses.

    We're hearing reports the David Lane train barriers in Basford are stuck in the down position and the traffic lights are out of order too.

    This is causing a lot of traffic in the area.

    One of the protesters told BBC Nottingham's political reporter Peter Saull earlier, external if the council approved today's application, it would be the start of fracking across the county.

    She said although it was only exploratory drilling that was being proposed at the moment, if the committee give iGas the go ahead, "that's them giving iGas the green light to start fracking in our county".

    She said the plans would see large lorries travelling through the small village which is already home to quarrying and the Robin Hood Airport flight path.

    Nottingham Panthers have re-signed forward Petr Kalus, who last played for the club in the 2013-14 season. 

    Kalus scored the winning penalty shot in the Challenge Cup final victory over Belfast that season.

    His arrival comes at the time when the club say forward Stephen Schultz will be out for at least a month after injuring his ankle in Saturday's victory over Manchester Storm.
