    Leicestershire Foxes wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi has urged his team mates to "play with a smile" as they look to end a five-game winless run in the T20 Blast.

    The Foxes won their first four games of the competition, before losing their next four and seeing last night's match with the Notts Outlaws abandoned because of the rain.

    "It is a tough game," former New Zealand international Ronchi told BBC Radio Leicester.

    "But if we go out there with a smile on our face and just enjoy it as much as we possibly can and not think about results... things will work out better."

    The Foxes host sixth-placed Lancashire Lightning on Friday evening.

    Experts from the University of Nottingham are using the internet in an attempt to try and root out modern day slavery in northern India.

    The team are using Google Maps' satellite images to identify brick kilns, sites that are notorious for using slaves, including children.

    "The key thing at the moment is to get those statistics right and to get the locations of the brick kilns sorted," Dr Doreen Boyd said.

    "There are certainly activists on the ground that will help us in terms of getting the statistics and the locations of these brick kilns to [government] officials."

    Anti-slavery activists said the project could be useful in identifying remote kilns or mines that would otherwise escape public or official scrutiny.

    A former military hospital which housed sick and wounded soldiers during World War One is to be honoured next week.

    Leicestershire County Council will award a green plaque, external to Wicklow Lodge, in Melton.

    A former hunting lodge, it was transformed into a military hospital in 1914 and between 1915-19 it treated over 1,000 military personnel.

    Local historian Derek Simmonds nominated the building for the award. He said: "I was in the county records office and was shown a list of military hospitals in Leicestershire during the First World War.

    "I was astonished to find out that Wicklow Lodge treated 1,484 sick and wounded soldiers."

    Police say a man was left concussed after being robbed by a "violent duo", external in Derby's Arboretum Park.

    The victim also suffered facial injuries when he was punched to the ground and kicked on the floor by the pair at about 17:15 on Monday.

    Broadmarsh car park will close on Monday ahead of its planned demolition, the council has announced, external.

    The car park and bus station are being pulled down and rebuilt as part of a £250m redevelopment, external.

    The council said construction of the new Broadmarsh was due to get under way earlier next year with the new car park and bus station reopening in late 2019 and the new shopping centre opening in 2020.

    The former owner of a restaurant that featured on Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares on Channel 4 has been sentenced for tax fraud.

    Arfan Razak, 49, ran the Curry Lounge on Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham, and was found to have lied on his VAT returns to the tune of £64,741.54.

    Razak, of Melton Road, West Bridgford, owned the restaurant between 2006 and 2015 and appeared on Gordon Ramsay's programme in 2007.

    HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) began examining the business after a series of unusual tax returns and it found sales were being suppressed on the VAT returns.

    During the investigation, Razak provided fake bank statements to try to cover up his crimes.

    He was sentenced to 18 months in prison for the fraud, suspended for two years.

    "Razak first tried reality TV to keep his restaurant going, then crime - and both failed," Stuart Taylor of HMRC said.

    "Now he is paying the price for thinking he could cheat the honest majority who do the right thing."

    Tony Walker wrote: "They need a full review of whether it is safe to have level crossing gates on major routes is this on the main east coast line. they are skimping on the expense of putting in a bridge which are much safer."
