The letters, complete with city council logo, warn commuters parking on roads in Sneinton they will be towed away and claim double yellow lines are being introduced.

Here in Ardmore Close, the tactic seems to have worked - there were no cars parked when our reporter went down yesterday.

The city council has confirmed the letters aren't genuine and it has no plans for extra enforcement in the area.
