    A man has been punched in the face and robbed by two men at his home in Nottingham.

    Police have said the men entered the property in Ashdale Road in Carlton at about 15:45 on Tuesday.

    After assaulting the man inside they searched the house and took a wallet and other items.

    A Derby football coach has picked up a national award after more than 50 years of service to the sport.

    Tarsem Singh Cheema has inspired generations of players since setting up Punjab United in the city with his friends in the 1960s.

    He's now been named this year's Unsung Hero at the recent British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards in London.

    The police watchdog is investigating a crash in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured.

    Nottinghamshire Police has said its officers were chasing the motorbike, which was reported as stolen, just before midnight last Thursday.

    The pursuit started in Bulwell town centre and lasted several minutes until the driver crashed into a parked van on Alwyn Road in Broxtowe. The 20-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries that aren't thought to be life threatening.

    Nottinghamshire Police referred the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

    A third of seats across two councils in Derbyshire will be contested in the local elections.

    A total of 17 seats at Derby City Council and 15 seats at Amber Valley Borough Council are up for election.

    Registered voters will be able to cast their ballots at polling stations between 07:00 and 22:00.

    Labour currently has the majority of seats at Derby City Council, while the Conservatives have control of Amber Valley Borough Council.
