    It says the ground across the park is extremely dry and there's a high risk of fire.

    The Peak District covers parts of Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and extends into Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

    A garden designed for people living with dementia is opening in Leicester this weekend.

    The outdoor space in the grounds of Abbey Pumping Station Museum is fenced with a circular path, seating and wildflowers.

    It's cost £46,000 to create and is designed as a calm safe place for people with dementia, their carers and families.

    A woman running a dog blood transfusion service has told the BBC she's contacted Derbyshire Police about helping Axle.

    The police dog was stabbed four times while helping the force with a "domestic incident" last night.

    Lucy Conley provides blood for critically-ill dogs who need life saving blood transfusions. Her details have been passed on to the vets caring for PD Axle.

    Bournemouth have accepted a bid of £6m from Nottingham Forest for striker Lewis Grabban.

    Birmingham, Middlesbrough and Leeds are also thought to be interested in the 30-year-old, who spent time on loan at Sunderland and Aston Villa last season.

    Police have named a 24-year-old man who died after being pulled from the River Derwent in Alvaston.

    Malcolm Wyre, from Derby, died in hospital after being lifted from the water by emergency crews on Saturday evening.

    His sister Kerry said Mr Wyre "had his whole life ahead of him", adding the family's loss "still hasn't sunk in".

    Insp Greg Hunt added: “This was a deeply unfortunate sequence of events that led to the death of a young man.

    “I would urge the public not to speculate or make judgements and assumptions regarding how this tragic accident came about, as these assumptions are often wrong and can be upsetting for family and friends.”

    Plans tying up the final details of a 30-home development in Kirk Langley have been submitted to the borough council.

    The application from Peveril Homes would see 30 houses built off Ashbourne Road in the village, of which nine would be "affordable housing".

    Outline proposals for the site were approved in May but this application details access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale.

    There have been 23 objections to the plans by members of the public but 16 others have voiced their support. The application will be decided in the next few months.

    Rooms and corridors from a mansion that used to stand at Clumber Park have become visible again due to the dry weather over the past few weeks.

    Clumber House was one of the most impressive buildings in the country during the 18th and 19th Centuries but was demolished in 1938 after a fire.

    The lines on the park's Parsonage Lawn can be clearly seen on these images, captured by aerial photographer Paul Hancock.

    They even show where an old chapel used to stand (the faint circular shape near the bottom/centre of the third photo).

    Former Derby City Council leader Ranjit Banwait will have to wait until November for his election petition to be heard.

    The Labour politician lost his Boulton seat in May and is challenging the result. Labour says it doesn't believe other parties campaigned within the limits of the law.

    A preliminary hearing was held today at the High Court in London. Mr Banwait and Paul Bettany - who won the seat for UKIP - were both represented in court. It's possible the case will be heard in Derby.

    A man has appeared in court charged with the manslaughter of a 100-year-old woman whose neck was broken when her handbag was snatched.

    Sofija Kaczan died over a week after being attacked in Normanton in May.

    Arthur Waszkiewicz, 39, from London, pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and robbery and was remanded in custody.

    The trial has been adjourned until 3 December.
