    Firefighters used an inflatable raft to rescue a driver who got stuck in 3ft of flood water at a notorious ford in Leicester this morning.

    The fire service has warned other drivers to steer clear of the ford, in Watery Gate Lane, Thurlaston, following recent storms.

    A 16-year-old boy has been charged with carrying a knife in Chaddesden, external.

    Derbyshire Police said the teenager was detained following a disturbance in Wood Road at about 04:15.

    The firm brought in after Notts County owner Alan Hardy's company Paragon Interiors went into administration is still looking for potential buyers for the firm.

    Around 90 staff were made redundant yesterday after a deal to save Paragon collapsed.

    A spokeswoman for administrators, Leonard Curtis, said: "The joint administrators are still in discussion with other interested parties and continuing to pursue a potential sale and to secure a more positive outcome for all concerned."

    Mr Hardy said: "Unfortunately it has been forced on them [the administrators] due to the collapse of the recent deal to sell Paragon, a deal I fully expected to be successful, securing jobs at Paragon and across our sites."

    Fifth Planet, which is based in Copenhagen, said the studio hadn't developed enough products for the company to meet expected goals.

    More than 200 people have been arrested over the past year as part of a police crackdown on organised crime in Nottinghamshire.

    The force launched Operation Reacher in April to try to dismantle crime and drug networks in Bestwood and other parts of the county.

    It said of 203 people arrested, 104 had been charged or otherwise dealt with through measures like fixed penalties and cannabis warnings. A raid was carried out yesterday as part of the operation.

    Drugs with a street value of £1.8m have also been seized along with more than £300,000 in cash, 337 vehicles and 23 weapons, including eight firearms.

    Det Ch Supt Gerard Milano said: "We have lots of very dedicated officers hungry for this kind of work so I know that we will continue to make a difference."

    Speaking on Victoria Derbyshire earlier, North West Leicestershire MP Andrew Bridgen called for Theresa May to stand down and call a general election.

    He said he wanted a prime minister "who believes in Brexit".

    Plans to regenerate a derelict area of Nottingham look likely to get the go ahead .

    Proposals for the former Boots Island site include homes, shops, a market space and a five-star hotel.

    A "financially and resource challenged" football club could cease to exist at midday today unless £10,000 can be raised.

    Oadby Town FC announced they were resigning from the United Counties League on Friday and are seeking last minute donations to help the club stay afloat.

    In a statement, external, the club said: "Despite the best and selfless efforts of the committee, the team and playing staff and a very small number of hard working volunteers, it seems very likely the club will cease to exist by 12pm noon on Wednesday, 13th March 2019."

    The club, formed in 1937, say they need to raise £10,000 by midday to settle costs from this season and also to give the club a better starting point for next season.

    A new 50-place special school for children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) will be built in Leicestershire.

    The free school will be built at the Iveshead School campus in Shepshed using cash from a £350m central government pot.
