    Two military medals and bottles of regimental port have been stolen from a house in Long Eaton.

    Derbyshire Police said the burglary took place in Bennett Street at some point between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

    Notts County picked up a useful three points at Carlisle United last night to boost their chances of League Two survival.

    Kane Hemming scored twice and Lewis Alessandra netted late on to win 3-1 in front of 3,514 supporters at Brunton Park.

    Airports in the East Midlands are to have their drone exclusion zones extended from today.

    The measure follows recent incidents in London which led to major disruption.

    From today drones will be banned within five kilometres of East Midlands Airport and airfields including Tollerton's Nottingham City Airport - previously the limit was one kilometre.

    About 90 people at Notts County owner Alan Hardy's firm have lost their jobs.

    Paragon Interiors went into administration in February but a deal to sell the company and save the jobs collapsed.

    Mr Hardy said the problems of the firm, which has been trading for 33 years, would not affect Notts County.

    "Unfortunately it has been forced on them [the administrators] due to the collapse of the recent deal to sell Paragon, a deal I fully expected to be successful, securing jobs at Paragon and across our sites," he said.

    This was the scene earlier this morning on the A57 Snake Pass, which links Manchester and Sheffield.

    The road was blocked by a fallen tree between the A6013 at Ladybower Reservoir and Hurst Road.

    It has since reopened to cars and vans, but not for high-sided vehicles because of the wind.

    Two women who were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods following a ram-raid at a clothes shop in Leicester have been released while investigations continue, external.

    Five thieves are believed to have crashed a Suzuki 4x4 into Flannels in Halford Street on Sunday night and left with thousands of pounds worth of clothes.

    The Suzuki was recovered on Monday and the women - aged 29 and 30 - were detained after a large quantity of clothing believed to have come from the store was found at a property in Aikman Avenue.

    Police are still appealing for information and witnesses.

    There was another twist in the Brexit saga last night as MPs once again rejected Theresa May's withdrawal agreement in the House of Commons.

    Nicky Morgan, Alberto Costa, Maggie Throup, Patrick McLoughlin, John Mann, Heather Wheeler, Nigel Mills, Alan Duncan and Ben Bradley were among the East Midlands MPs who supported the prime minister.

    Anna Soubry, Lee Rowley, Chris Leslie, Dennis Skinner, Gloria De Piero, Pauline Latham, Chris Williamson and Liz Kendall were among those who voted against her.

    It means MPs will vote later on whether Britain should leave the EU without a deal.

    A burlesque dance class is helping promote body confidence, according to its instructor.

    Members of Sky Tribe in Leicester don lacy outfits each week and follow risqué routines.

    The performers insist it is all about empowering women and improving their fitness levels.

    Instructor Hannah Myatt said it was "an escapism thing" for many class members.

    The site of a Leicester flat and shop that were destroyed in an explosion - killing five people - is due to go under the hammer.

    The blast ripped through the Hinckley Road store on 25 February last year.

    Three men were jailed for life for murder after a jury found them guilty of blowing up the Polish supermarket in a bid to claim a £300,000 insurance payout.

    The cleared site has been listed for auction as "ideal for development" to turn it back into a shop or flats.
