A woman whose Long Eaton home is due to be bought and demolished by HS2 says she's "flabbergasted" after the company took £50,000 off the amount it was willing to pay for it.
Diane Scott said she had negotiated a fee of £290,000 for the 300-year-old New Tythe Street property with HS2 in November but the offer was reduced to £240,000 after being reviewed by the company.
She said HS2 had offered no explanation for its revised offer.
Ms Scott said: "I feel absolutely devastated and I'm going to fight it. It's totally unfair and unjust. The property was valued by three independent estate agents prior to this at £325,000."
HS2 said: "Every situation is unique and there will often be different opinions about the value of a property.
"We have a responsibility to establish a price that is fair both for homeowners and the taxpayer."
The company has agreed to carry out a further survey on the property tomorrow.
