The girl was walking along Edensor Drive near the footpath with Norbury Way at about 16:00 on Tuesday when a man sitting in a car asked for directions.

A force spokesman said the man was exposing himself to the girl and then made "an inappropriate comment" to her, adding the girl told her parents about what happened shortly after returning home.

The man is said to be a white man aged between 20 and 40 with black hair and stubble, and the car is believed to be a white BMW.

  9. Leicester mayor attacks Westminster for 'messy situation'published at 08:54 British Summer Time 16 July 2020

    BBC Radio Leicester

Government data on which areas of Leicester were worst affected by coronavirus should have been made available to local officials earlier, the city's mayor has said.

Sir Peter Soulsby said health experts based locally "are the ones well-placed" to use data on infection rates "effectively", adding leaders in Westminster had got Leicester into a "messy situation" by its handling of the local lockdown.

He said he hopes Health Secretary Matt Hancock "will allow us and trust us at a local level to work with the people of the city" when the government makes an announcement on the next steps.

If an extension to the city's lockdown is confirmed there would be "very angry" residents in the city, he claimed.

Previously, the Department of Health and Social Care has said that cases in Leicester were "significantly higher" than other parts of the country, requiring it to take "decisive action" to save lives.

It added: "Local partners in Leicester have able to access government-held data from 19 June, and we are working closely with them so that these necessary local restrictions can be removed as soon as possible."

The company, which employs about 3,400 people, said it has earmarked sites for closure due to what it "expects will be an unsustainable operating environment for the foreseeable future".

Buzz closed its sites across the UK on 21 March due to the lockdown, before reducing costs and furloughing the majority of its staff.

However, the company said it will "take time" for footfall to reach pre-virus levels due to social distancing measures and weaker customer confidence.
