    MP Alberto Costa has advised his constituents in South Leicestershire to only venture out if necessary.

    In a social media post, the Conservative member said Blaby District Council and Harborough District Council were working hard to provide sandbags to areas that needed them.

    The owner of a toilet hire company has made his technology available to help residents in Leicester affected by flooding.

    Leicestershire Toilet Hire's suction machine can take up to 3,000 litres of water.

    Bus company Trent Barton has warned flood water has caused disruption to a number of its services in the East Midlands.

    These include the Mainline route in Nottingham, the i4 through Risley, Derbyshire, the Rushcliffe Villager and the Villager V1 in Hilton, Derbyshire.

    Elsewhere in Leicester, a medical centre is also closed after being hit by flooding on Tuesday.

    Beautiful Smiles, a dental practice based at Victoria Park Health Centre, said the flood water had "drowned" its building.

    Practice bosses said they were hoping to reopen again "as soon as possible".

    An outdoor activity centre in Leicester has confirmed it will stay closed on Wednesday due to flooding.

    Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre is located next to the River Soar in the north of the city.

    The centre said it would update customers on whether it would reopen later in the week.

    Drivers coming down The Mease in Hilton, Derbyshire, are still turning round and heading back again this morning because, as you come to Huntspill Road, there are flood warning signs.

    The flooding looks a little better than it did yesterday but there’s still an abandoned car here on the road between Huntspill Road and the Egginton Road roundabout.

    As you head towards the roundabout, the road is very much still underwater.

    Motorists have been advised not to attempt to drive through flooded roads.

    Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said drivers should stop if a road has been closed and take an alternative route.

    Major roads across Leicestershire remain closed due to flooding, including the A426 at Whetstone.

    The county's police force also advised drivers to take extra care when travelling and to allow more time for your journey.

    Today is going to be drier than Tuesday but there is still the chance of seeing some showers around as we go through the morning and into the afternoon.

    One or two of those could be heavy at times as we progress towards the second half of the day.

    There could also be a bit of brightness breaking out between the cloud and it's still going to be feeling fairly mild with highs of 10C (50F).

    Going into this evening there's a chance we could see a few more showers but it is looking mostly cloudy as we go through to the early hours with a few clear spells by first thing tomorrow.

    Martin Jenkinson, who lives in Shardlow, Derbyshire, has taken to using a boat to get to and from his home.

    He said his property, which sits on stilts, was "completely safe" and that access was the main issue.

    Mr Jenkinson uses the boat for stability to walk down the flooded lane towards his home, which he says is 1m deep in places.

    He added: "We’ve been here six years in February and this is our worst year for continuous flooding.

    "We never flooded at all last year, then this year, we’ve started in October and it doesn’t seem to have given up that much."

    Officers have urged people in Loughborough to stop removing flood warning signs.

    Leicestershire Police said it had happened in the Belton Road, Jubilee Road and Meadow Lane area.

    The force took to social media on Wednesday morning to ask people to "act responsibly at this time as emergency services are already busy".

    National Highways has warned the westbound carriageway of the A52 in Nottinghamshire remains closed due to flooding.

    The road was closed in both directions earlier this morning between the A60 (Nottingham Knight rounadbout) and the A606 (Edwalton), but the eastbound carriageway has since reopened.

    National Highways said that due to water flowing onto the road from saturated adjacent fields and with more rain predicted, it was "not likely to open any time soon".

    Drivers have been advised to plan alternative routes this morning.

    Trains are not currently able to run between Worksop and Mansfield Woodhouse in Nottinghamshire due to flooding on the line.

    East Midlands Railway said it was looking into alternative arrangements but warned that problems on the roads meant rail replacement transport was likely to be "very limited".

    Numerous warnings for flooding are in place in our region.

    The Environment Agency has issued more than 180 warnings across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

    Heavy rainfall on already saturated ground caused widespread disruption yesterday and the wet weather is due to continue.

    Leicestershire Police say a "large number" of homes have been affected by flooding in Loughborough.

    The force has advised residents in the Belton Road area of the town to move their property upstairs and to not walk in flood waters as there is a possibility of man hole covers moving and debris in the water.

    Those living in Belton Road have been asked to not leave their homes until it is safe to do so.

    Visitors to one of Nottingham's most famous attractions are being warned of restrictions due to heavy rain.

    Managers at Wollaton Hall have said the number of vehicles allowed into the park will be limited on Wednesday because some of the car parks are unusable.

    They also said the Derby Road entrance will be locked due to flooding at the gate.

    Those wishing to come have also been advised most paths have been affected and appropriate footwear must be worn.
