    On South Today tonight: It has been announced that the government's tax collecting body, HM Revenue and Customs, is to close all its 170 offices across the country and instead create 13 regional centres.

    It means the offices in Oxford, Milton Keynes and Reading will close.

    Research by the Taxpayers Alliance, external has found the University of Oxford has the most employees of all UK universities earning £100,000 or more.

    The top paid member of staff earned £630,000.

    The university says it needs to attract "exceptional minds" who are also highly sought after by international competitors.

    A Byzantine church raised from a Sicilian shipwreck is to be reconstructed for an exhibition at the Ashmolean museum next year.

    The "flat pack" marble church (similar to the pictured ruin in Libya) will go on show as part of the Oxford museum's summer show of more than 200 objects rescued from the bottom of the sea.

    The Storms, War and Shipwrecks exhibition opens on 21 June 2016.

    Two routes have been suggested to connect from the A41 to Graven Hill:

    • Option 1: An alignment connecting from the existing Vendee Drive roundabout
    • Option 2: An alignment further south of Option 1, closer to the village of Wendlebury.

    The Cabinet Office has confirmed that it has received a letter from MP Jon Ashworth complaining that David Cameron has broken the ministerial code.

    Mr Ashworth believes the prime minister should not have offered No. 10 resources to Oxfordshire County Council to help make cuts in back office, rather than frontline services.

    The Cabinet Office  said it "will respond in due course".

    David Cameron has been accused of breaking the ministerial code in his response to proposed council cuts in Oxfordshire.

    Labour MP Jon Ashworth said: "David Cameron appears to be conflating his role as the Witney member of parliament with his role as the member of the government. You are not allowed to use your ministerial office to advantage your own constituency."

    Mr Cameron invited Oxfordshire County Council leader Ian Hudspeth to speak to his office about proposed budget cuts after criticising the areas affected.

    Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman who was shot in the head in Oxfordshire.

    Billy Johnson, 20, from Ripon Court, Corby, Northamptonshire, and Charles Noble, 20, from Kempton Avenue, Northolt, Ealing, have both been charged with Kerry Reeves' murder.

    They appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court and will next appear at Oxford Crown Court on Monday.

  17. Didcot killer 'not a monster', family sayspublished at 14:16

    The man who killed his mother, half sister and mother's partner in May was a "gentle giant", his family has said.
