    Consultant forensic pathologist Dr Nicholas Hunt said the Didcot triple murder victims sustained "unsurvivable" injuries, even if medical care had been administered.

    There were also "defensive" injuries to the victims' hands and arms, he added.

    A family friend has told the inquest into the deaths of three people in Didcot that Janet Jordon and her son, who is suspected of carrying out the killings, Jed Allen (pictured) had argued two days before the stabbings.

    Mary Dennis said the quarrel was over Mrs Jordon pulling out of going to the cinema.

    She added that she thought they had made up and their relationship was generally good.

    The inquest into May's murders in Didcot has heard that the cause of death in all three cases was "multiple stab wounds".

    The inquest of the victims of atriple murder in Didcothas started at Oxford Coroner's Court.

    Janet Jordon, 48, her daughter Derrin, six, and Janet's partner Philip Howard, 44, were found dead at their home in Vicarage Road, Didcot, on 23 May.

    They had been stabbed to death and the main suspect, Ms Jordon's 21-year-old son Jed Allen, was discovered dead as a result of hanging in woodland two days later.

    A Thames Valley Police Special Constable has been dismissed after a misconduct hearing found he failed to pay for items, external in a training college canteen.

    Adam Fanospour was found to have committed "gross misconduct" while he was attending a course at the Probationer Development Unit at Sulhamstead Training College in January.

    Police investigating the murder of Kerry Reeves carried out a search in Boxhill park in Abingdon last night, which is close to where she was shot.

    Police wouldn't confirm exactly what they were searching for - but did say it was in connection with the investigation, and they worked went well into the night.

    Two men are due up in court today charged with her murder.

    An exchange of letters between David Cameron and the Oxfordshire County Council leader Ian Hudspeth, where the prime minister criticised the focus of proposed cuts, has made national news in the past 24 hours.

    The inquest will be held this morning into the deaths of three family members suspected to have been murdered by Jed Allen in Didcot earlier this year.

    Allen, 21, is suspected of killing his mother Janet, 48, his six-year-old half sister Derin, and his mother’s boyfriend Philip Howard, 44, in May.

    A separate inquest will also be held for Allen who was found hanging in woodland a few days after the deaths.

  13. Labour criticises PM over council cuts rowpublished at 08:50

    David Cameron is being accused of hypocrisy over a letter he wrote to Oxfordshire County Council leader Ian Hudspeth complaining about planned cuts to services.

    Labour says the cuts are caused by his own government's policies and the prime minister may have breached the ministerial code by sending the letter.

    Mr Cameron wrote to Mr Hudspeth saying he was "disappointed" at proposed "cuts to frontline services, from elderly day centres, to libraries, to museums".

    Two men charged with the murder of Kerry Reeves are due at Oxford Magistrates' Court today.

    Billy Johnson, 20, from Ripon Court, Corby, Northamptonshire, and Charles Noble, 20, from Kempton Avenue, Northolt, Ealing, have both been charged with her murder.

    Kerry Reeves died in hospital two days after being shot in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, on 3 November.
