    Christmas lights set up in honour of an Abingdon child cancer survivor have been stolen.

    Phil Rose first installed the five illuminated reindeer in the garden of his home two years ago when his daughter Maizie was diagnosed with neuro-blastoma, but the family woke to find the display had been stolen yesterday.

    The silent film shows the 71st contest from March 1914, which Cambridge won.

    The footage is part of the BFI's collection of historical sporting events on the site, which has today been extended with Football on Film - 70 years’ worth of archive football footage, external.

    BBC Oxford Sport report the U's will play the second leg of their Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final against Millwall at home. 

    Dates for the ties are yet to be confirmed, but the first leg will be played the week commencing 11 January, with the return at the Kassam in the week starting 1 February.

    A man charged with the murder of a Poundland customer in Abingdon has appeared at Banbury Magistrates' Court.

    Trevor Joyce, 36, from Abingdon is accused of killing Justin Skrebowski on Monday.

    He will next appear at Oxford Crown Court on Friday.
